Jan 22, 2015 7.2 seems about right to me. It's easily the best thing he's done in a long time, but it's nowhere near his first two albums like some people are saying
Jan 22, 2015 This. Of course it's great that he put out a very good album, but it has been out for a few days so obviously people rate it a lot higher. After a while I think 7.2 will be a fair rating.
Jan 22, 2015 going to be interesting to see what lupe does after this. he's done with atlantic. he might just stay independent... ideal situation would probably be for him to go to G.O.O.D.
Jan 22, 2015 Finally getting around to listen to this. just finished Dots and Lines. Can say this album is definately better than his last couple of albums by far.
Jan 22, 2015 Haven't given this as many listens as I'd like, but Prisoner 1 & 2 is unreal. Great album and a return to form for Lupe. Will have to sit with it more this weekend. Definitely better than his last couple efforts.

Jan 23, 2015 Chopper's beat is insane with good quality speakers. DJ Dahi is one of best producers around now.
Jan 23, 2015 I cant stop laughing when I hear ty dolla sing "no, no, so sad cuz the pizza man dont f--- with us no more"
Jan 23, 2015 This is definitely not a classic lol. I know I'll catch more things the more I listen to this (something I actually intend to do, unlike with the previous trash), but I can't see how people place this among Food And Liquor and The Cool. Very good album though, much better than I expected, easily his 3rd best. A few thoughts after listening to the whole thing: Blur My Hands and especially No Scratches are disappointing like they belong to F&L2, and I don't really like some of the choruses from the guests, they sound kinda poppy and/or shallow in comparison to the whole album I think. Deliver has some really corny parts, and a 9' posse cut seems out of place to me (and I think it's a mediocre track in its own right, too). Little Death is also kinda forgettable, but I'll have to listen to it more I guess. I like everything else more or less, and there are a few brilliant moments. Mural is great and easily my favourite, Prisoner 1 & 2 is very good as well, Madonna, Adoration of the Magi etc. Some good wordplay and metaphors without sounding like a tryhard most of the time, and he sounds confident and still flows comfortably throughout the album. Very good production and instrumentation, with quite a few interesting moments like the ending of Dots and Lines etc. Overall a good record, certainly a step in the right direction for Lupe who seems closer than ever to his former self. If he goes independent now, I expect something even better next time. I'd give this something like an 7.5-8/10 after 3 listens. Good effort.
Jan 23, 2015 "Life is not a dictionary, it's thesaurus And I feel like a missionary to a clitoris" #Lupe #solyrical #Eminem #punchline #style All jokes aside, I like Mural, but I don't understand all the praise this track gets. He's trying so hard that sometimes it's really difficult to enjoy these parts of a track when he really sounds inspired and effortlessly. For instance, this part. "I prefer girls to reign all over the world And not rain like, rain man or rain like rain dance Or rain like a slight chance of rain when it's raining Or rein like deer slaves to Santa Claus sleigh man But reign like Queens that reign over made man And not Queen like Queen killer, rhapsody bohemian Queen" Is it really that good? I found it very annoying tbh.
