This beat change. f--- haunting. Dare I say the fitting conclusion of a concept album.

Half way through this so far (time restraints). Liking it so far but haven't been able to give it enough attention.
So much music out recently that I need to catch up with.

No it’s terrible. Don’t try and kid yourself just because it’s Nas.

This entry in his discography almost definitely solidifies Nas' spot in the top ten. I'd say this is his fourth or fifth best work - which is great considering the distance from his seminal work. Life Is Good has proven to be the blueprint to the wave of reflective albums coming from some of the greatest rappers to do it. Jay did it masterfully with 4:44 and now Nas has doubled down.

Do you think 4:44 is better than Life is Good? I like 4:44 but appreciated Life is Good more than that. Jays discography is way better than Nas's, but Jay is fake af

I think that structurally 4:44 may be a better album - it's more concise, tighter and cleaner; but content wise, Life is Good is the better album no doubt. 4:44 is a great record but was geared in a direction to basically serve as propaganda for Tidal. It divides its attention in to just two avenues - the fallout from cheating on Beyonce - and his quest to define blackness via Tidal. I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing, but Life is Good touches on so much more than that. Jay's the better rapper, and has the better discog - but Nas has aged far more gracefully than Jay has (especially with the NFL sell out stuff).
