Mad Max (2: The Road Warrior) in 1981
Mad Max in 2015
I adore that George Miller generally opted for practical techniques rather than digital when it came to the stunts. They even built 150 real cars for the movie. It's pretty mind blowing to think that the vehicle stunts (and thats including the functioning guitar/flamethrower playing guy and the riders on the stilts etc), crashes, explosions, etc. were all practical and not digitally rendered.Joshua Smoses, Pinhead, Suburban Scum and 1 other person like this. -

Saw this Thursday night and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Its that f---ing good.
Need to see it again ASAP. The fact that a 70-year-old who hasn't made an action movie in 30 years just upstaged everyone in Hollywood is a feat itself. Masterful action filmmaking.
The world building was immense too. Just an amazing movie, couldn't recommend it any more.Gattuso8, eddie313 and Suburban Scum like this. -

The first was really low budget, had horrible editing (both sound and video) and hasn't aged particularly well. You'll probably finish it and think "that's it?" because it isn't full of baddies with sick cars and desert wastelands. It's pre-apocalypse. Mad Max 2 is the post apocalypse setting people think of when they hear the name.Creation, lil uzi vert stan and Goku187 like this.
