Dec 19, 2014 25 To Life is a special song to me. At the time that album leaked I had just gotten out of a 6 year relationship with a girl that never appreciated me and treated me like s---. The last time we brokeup she begged me to stay and I finally walked away. That song was basically word for word what I went through. I know it's a "metaphor for hip-hop" song and I've always hated that. I just pretend that last line of the song doesn't exist. And by Eminem solo I meant anything he did as a solo artist, including features, just no group stuff. If I included D12 Words Are Weapons would be in my Top 10 for sure.
Dec 19, 2014 Kim is just as shocking, disturbing, and vivid now as it was the first time I heard it. It's like listening to a horror movie on CD. It's almost uncomfortable to listen to. It's storytelling at its best. This is the Eminem parents didn't want their kids listening to, and rightfully so.
Dec 19, 2014 it's not exactly a metaphor, the lines tell two distinct stories, one about a woman and one about his career spend some time and so much better are the same way sometimes I'll listen and only think about the relationship theme, and other times I'll focus on how he's weaving in talking about work I suppose I can see where all of this could turn people off though other songs do it too, comparing fans to his kids, shady to satan etc the fact that they thought the kids was less dangerous is really all that needs to be said
Dec 20, 2014 Jesus ti--y f---ing Christ, you two. 25 to Life is one of the worst "hip hop as a woman" tracks ever made, and as a story about a real relationship... Pretty clear you've never been in an actual relationship (that turned out bad or good) if you think this song is somehow deep and realistic.
