Every crew/label has their moment in the limelight (Shady, G-Unit etc), when it’s all said and done.. Who is gonna be left standing?..

Now, obviously this won't include Aftermaths golden child for obvious reasons, but out of Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Jay-Rock, SZA & Isaiah Rashad, who is going to survive without the TDE ‘tag‘ and subsequent relevancy.

Best non-Kendrick project on TDE is easily Cilvia Demo by Isaiah Rashad.

Ab-Soul and Schoolboy Q are my favorites from TDE. I'm also getting more and more into now Jay Rock too so look out for him.

If you're a fan of west coast gangster rap with that 1999-2005 sound, check out Jay Rock's Black Friday album. Highly recommend it.

To answer the question, probably ScHoolboy. He's the most accessible, and he fits nicely on a wider range of tracks than Jay Rock and Ab do. I can't comment on SZA and Isaiah yet, its too early for them.

But the stark difference between a group like Shady, G-Unit and TDE is that every artist on TDE has an incredible amount of skill. What Drake is doing with OVO Sound is more comparable to what G-Unit was. Outside of Fif and Banks, was anyone on that label ever good? And Shady only ever signed one good artist - 50 Cent. Drake is signing his homeless friends and randoms that he thinks will take off. ILoveMakonnen is whack outside of one song. I still can't tell If OBrien is serious about rapping or not lol.

Theres something different about the way TDE is approaching it. Thats not to say they won't naturally fall out of the limelight.

Oxymoron was a big disapointment imo. Looking forward to Jay Rock's album.

I liked it a lot :manny: Didn't have the replay value I would have wanted but I though it was a good album.

To be honest, I've never really been able to get into any of Ab-Soul's albums. Been meaning to give Control System another try though cuz I've heard it's his best. I f---ing love Cilvia Demo, though. Easily in my top three this year.

Oxymoron and Habits & Contradictions both have a lot of good songs on them, but the problem is that Q doesn't know how to construct an album.

After These Days, I'm hoping Ab-Soul won't be the Obie Trice of the group.

I probably had too much high expectations after H&C & thinking he was going to make a classic. YG kinda outshined him a bit.
h--- of a Night tho :wow:

Word I think YG's album is my favourite of 2014 too haha, I'm glad his career is taking off.

Schoolboy said it nice once when talking about feature verses from other TDE artists. He said it doesn't matter if they get out shined as long as they add to the track and make it better lmao. Obviously YG isn't TDE but that was probably the thought process with that.

Q's songs with Kendrick and Rocky are very good, but he's kinda hit or miss in general imo, Oxymoron was really forgettable except from a few songs. He needs to be more consistent

Next up, "Koolo official Cilvia Demo review" please. :isaiahrashad:

Seriously though, they're pretty much all f---ing dope. I don't f---s with SZA too much but the most recent track she released, Sobriety, is f---ing great.
