I hated Yellow Wolf for the longest time but this is one of the better albums I've heard in the past year. He's gained himself a fan.

So far loving the album. However on American you, there is a crackling sound. Is that meant to be there or is it my download??

Am I the only one that thinks a big portion of this album is really corny? Like Yelawolf seems to be rapping/singing in cliches for a good chunk of this album.

Best track off this record is Tennessee Love which like a 2 year old song. Kinda sad tbh.... Overall this album is really nothing special. I'd have a hard time calling it anything more than decent.

Just calling it how I see it. Don't see how anyone can disregard the corniness on this album. There's a lot of generic themes/ideas throughout this album.

Idk, i dont see much genericness on this album, i mean i dont think ive heard many rappers spit about the themes on a lot of the songs like till its gone (about people leeching off of him and telling them to become a man and hold their own) heart break (talking about a girl using their divorce to s--- money from him) box chevy V (literally about a specific type of car) johnny cash (about the anxiety and fears of opening up for bigger artists) have a great flight (relating death to a plane ride and seeing it as a sort of release) disappear (talking about wanting to meet his dad only to reveal that his imaginary father was his idea and solace in his god) just to name a few tracks....

I guess the recurring themes of alcoholism and hip hop music arent anything new but i think they're usually approached in a rather different way....

Something i found interesting.

Theres a wolf that is in the Best Friend video. It was a "Yellow Wolf" (only one in the whole US) and it was bred in Detroit and its name was Michael. What a coincidence lol

Had to pause my first listen to reply. I have only heard what had been released up until tonights release, but the six or seven songs I've heard aren't corny at all. American You, Whiskey in a Bottle, Best Friend, Box Chevy V.. All good songs, and Yelawolf is actually a decent singer tbh. Corny tho, i just don't see it.
