On the real tho, I just had a convo with a dude who tried to convince me that what Oscar Robertson did in the 60's is more impressive than what Westbrook is doing now. I think he is an Eminem stan, there is no other reasonable explaination to how someone r-----ed can be.

Agreed, but does that devalue a guy dominating his opponents? If anything, it makes it even more impressive that he was so superior to the rest of the league. The nutrition, strength training, and recovery methods were light years behind what they are today, so somebody being physically dominant, to me, in that era shouldn't devalue their accomplishments. Now if Westbrook continues this type of play for say a stretch of a full season, let alone a career, then I'd say it's more impressive. I'm team Westbrook through and through but he cannot be compared to Oscar Robertson yet. He's got a ways to go.

I never compared them as far as career wise goes. Just don't understand how is someone averaging such numbers against weaker competition more impressive than averaging the same in era where point guard position is so stacked that Kemba Walker is barely inside top 15 point guards in the league, let alone LeBron James' and all those other elite players. To put it in perspective, if you swap them and put Westbrook in the 60's would he still average those numbers? 98% of the chance he will. If you put Big O in the game today where 70% of the league are athletes and stronger or as strong as he was would he put those numbers? Wouldn't bet my money on it. You look at the top 10 players from the 60's and than look at the next 10 and there is a significant difference as far as the stats go. League was strongly unbalanced back then, the reason the guys like Wilt, Bill, Jerry, Reed and etc. were so dominant was purely because of a natural talent mixed with hard work. The others weren't so talented and neither did they work in weight room to improve on their athleticism and game to make up for it. Today you don't have to be the most talented and still can have a great career if you put in work on your body and in the gym.
