Skimmed the 8 or so pages I missed and saw people rating Shady XV, and I just want to point out that that s--- is, like, a 2/10 tops. I can at least understand why people like Recovery or MMLP2, but Shady XV is legitimately one of the most awful albums I've ever listened to. The best song on that album is by Slaughterhouse for f---'s sake.

FHD has good production but that's about all I remember from it. Will have to give it another listen before I give it a numerical rating.

Yeah XV was one of the worst "major label" (if you can even call shady that?) releases this year. There was maybe 2 songs that I didn't think were complete s--- on that album. The fact they were spelling names wrong during promo too  Flop of the year tbh.

    Ok.

The crew that form Migos, Rich Homie Quan, Young Scooter, Chief Keef and Future all sound like him

Thug is def driving/pushing wayne to up his game. And it is working.

Shady and co are def not trap. lol

I can't think of specific songs. More of just his sound outside of his voice.

I mean its undeniable that no one literally sounds like Thug, like his voice. I mean he is very unique sounding. I'm talking about the production, content, and lyrics. He is rapping over beats that sound like every other trap beat from the past 5 yrs.

2013 was a very good year for hip hop imo.

It's def majority trap that that camp makes. Show me different sounding experimental s---

I love thuggery parts in Mamacita ft Young Thug, About the Money feat young thug, Danny Glover- personal favorite. If you can give me stuff to listen to that sounds like that I you may start to change my mind.

I've heard rich g--- the tour part one. Lifestyle- obviously. 1017 Thug 3- The Finale, and 1017 Thug 2.

I need like specific highlights of his projects I haven't heard or you find good. Don't need links more of a list if you have the time. I'll look them up myself.

1017 thug 2 and 3 are not young thug releases. they're scraps from three years ago that gucci's camp threw together.

I finally uploaded Cadillactica into my itunes. I downloaded it when it leaked but never ripped it. I'll give it a listen. I don't know, I really like KRIT then kind of lost appeal with him. He's not bad but yeah. I'll check it out. I couldn't find My Krazy Life. Might have to s--- up and buy it lol.

I don't see the appeal of YG. MKL got some real dope production. I can't relate to dude's music though. Do it To Ya is smooth though...along with the 90s pool party visuals.

FHD is AOTY and better to me, personally. Followed by RTJ2 and Cadillactica.

having to "relate" to music is the lamest thing ever. if you can't find the humanity in yg's work, that's your problem, not his.

I can "relate" to J Cole more than anyone else in my top five, but that doesn't suddenly make his music any better than it is. On a superficial level I guess I don't relate to Young Thug at all, yet he's my favorite artist this year

    Weird huh

Alot who like his music probably can't relate to him.
He could be gay & could be Birdman's new lovechild.

Great thread, nice graphics/banners for the picks too.
FHD is a great album. It may realistically not be the best of the year, but you're crazy to leave it out of your top 5.
It's better than some of the reactions towards it's placement on this list are making it out to be, for anyone who hasn't heard it.
