Dec 28, 2014 If you ever actually posted with any sense of rationality or intelligence, people would take you seriously - regardless of your opinion So don't give up prematurely m8 were all on the edge of our seat waiting for your game changing paragraphs
Dec 28, 2014 I don't think I've ever actually heard the phrase "sense of intelligence" before jeez you're right that people sometimes disregard the importance of someone's opinion on the music here though
Dec 28, 2014 I understand that it's one of the very few songs on Relapse with meaningful content, but in my opinion that doesn't make it good. I don't like the beat, don't like the verses, the flow, and I can't stand that lazy mumbling chorus. Going Through Changes was pretty much everything Deja Vu tried to be, and failed to be. Again, just my opinion, I know most people like that song. I prefer Beautiful if I wanna hear a meaningful song from Relapse.
Dec 28, 2014 What the f---. It his best hook since his comeback. The verses are great & the beat fits the mood of he song perfectly. Intro is great too. Its what Relapse should have been.
Dec 28, 2014 What's wrong with the verses. And I'm only asking so you have a chance to explain yourself. People jump down your throat because you often say things that are SO out of left field, and the reasoning is often missing/insufficient So maybe you do have some legitimate reasons as to why the verses aren't good.
Dec 28, 2014 Pretty much everything about Deja Vu is perfect. It's brutally honest, well written, and the chorus is phenomenal...not to mention the godly Dre beat.
Dec 28, 2014 I'm just not a fan of the song. Like I said I know the content is there, the song's "heart is in the right place" but it just doesn't sound good to me. I don't like the hook, the beat doesn't fit the song well, and lines like "my dad's eating 3 Musketeers, refusing to shave his beard, watching the Cowboys & Buccaneers" would normally be panned by his fans on other songs. I don't think Deja Vu is a bad song, I just think it's overrated. Going Through Changes is a much better song about his addiction and personal struggles.
Dec 28, 2014 Why would a brutally honest line about how badly Em's life devolved due to drug abuse "usually be panned by fans?" I think you have a serious misunderstanding about what critics of current Eminem find insufferable. But it's not your fault - you aren't he only one
Dec 28, 2014 To be honest, I think you have an aversion to subtlety. Explains why you rate Hollywood undead, think going through changes is a better song than déjà vu, etc You like things more in your face Idk just my 2 cents
Dec 28, 2014 from my perspective. Theyre both great songs, but Deja Vu is no doubt the better of the 2. i dont see how this song can be over rated because it is truely gold.
Dec 28, 2014 TES is my favourite Em album but id say SSLP is the only album where I dont skip any songs. To Me SSLP doesnt really have any weak tracks or moments compared to TES or MMLP. However, the highs on MMLP and TES are definitely higher than SSLP. TES MMLP SSLP MMLP2 Recovery Relapse Encore Infinite Edit: holy s--- @Arch Dogg saying Underground is better than Deja Vu
Dec 29, 2014 csw out here realizing i may just know what I'm talking about and havin an existential crisis
Dec 29, 2014 TES is fantastic, but I've NEVER liked it as much as MMLP or SSLP. Idk. Em started to get dull by that point already. I'll take a k--- You over a Till I Collapse any day, nahmean? (they're both incredible 10/10, i'm just trying to make a point). And if I want a ruminative Em, I'll take Rock Bottom over Say Goodbye to Hollywood. idk, im just splitting hairs. first 3 albums are classics
Dec 29, 2014 The first three albums are all undeniable classics. It's just a matter of personal preference as to which style/persona you enjoy more. Slim Shady, Marshall Mathers, or Eminem. TES is my favorite of the three but most casual rap fans I talk to say they think Em peaked on MMLP. Stans (aka more educated fans) will tell you he peaked on 8 Mile.
