The first two tracks have the roughest mixes, but I kept em because 1) I can't do any better mix wise 2) I love the energy/vibe you get from it The middle tracks are clearly Young Thug, etc influenced. The backend is the most normal sounding s---. Check it out if you can, I'll drop a few mentions for people I think might leave some feedback/thoughts. Dec 27, 2014 good looks my dude…i see ur a Travis scott fan so I'd check out track 4..it's a verse I wrote to the Skyfall beat but rather than use the same beat as scott and thugger (because they made that song so f---ing good) i spit it on a different but similar beat. preciate ur time edit: oh and track 2 > 1 in terms of danny brownness in my opinion hahah
Dec 27, 2014 Just skimmed through the project, I wasn't feeling all of the tracks especially some of the slower ones tbh but I really liked the ones where you went all-out energetic like on Beauty. Like overall based on first listen I think the project was cool, and I think some tracks (again, like Beauty) show that you got a lot of potential. But fr, I can't stress enough how much I like Beauty. Like legit I'm bout to dl that song and put it in rotation with my New ATL playlist. s--- is muy fuego.
Dec 27, 2014 good looks my dude!! Yeah the thing is I live with 3 of my friends and recording situations aren't always ideal. Plus I know I have to handle the mixing my self so it's never going to come out how I envision it, etc, so I lose motivation and put out half assed s--- a lot of the time - or s--- that has me clearly just trying to figure out a style. The first two tracks I did on this I recorded most recently when I was at home over break and had an open house - quick wake and break and then went all out..it was like a f---ing workout lol my fat a--- was sweatin and s--- I'm glad you like it man..beauty is my favorite too. But I think below zero, sky fall, and geisha are all in the same vein - thats why they all start out the project. the last 3 tracks are sum different for a change of pace. even just gettin one more person that wouldn't usually find my music to peep this s--- makes this thread a success so praise Skippy da gawd
Dec 27, 2014 Btw yo this is just a suggestion you do you but when I hear your s--- I can't help but think your voice would sound badass if you did it like f---s Given by Childish Gambino ( Like around the 1: 00 minute mark he uses autotune to make his voice jump higher, but you kinda naturally did that in your songs. I just seen hear and then on some other thread that you been feeling around for styles and s--- and I thought I'd give my two cents, that's all.
Dec 27, 2014 Preciate the advice homie Ill check it out when I have my laptop I really wish I could find a producer/engineer that knows how to work with my voice/even wants too haha - preferably in real life. Like one of my friends is very musically inclined but our tastes are so different that whenever we link up we end up just f---ing around and it goes no where. I just want an opportunity to create in a proper setting
Dec 27, 2014 I personally enjoy doing the first two type of tracks more than anything else and also really believe it would sound the best (for those who like that style) if it was done a bit more professionally. As of now, i know the mix quality is awful for some and good for others but I can't lie - I think it works for tracks like he first two
Dec 28, 2014 Can see where @FriedSchizophrenic is coming from but I guess you just gotta be into that style. Like I enjoy Danny Brown and Thugger, Chance all those weird voiced dudes, so I enjoyed the first two tracks the most. Like I agree on the Mic/Mixing needing to be better, but overall I feel like these songs succeeded at like, being a good stepping stone to reaching a kind of niche sound that's obv inspired by Young Thug, but still @Narsh 's because his energy/mic presence is different. Like when I listen to some of these songs its so spastic and energetic, like a Thug/Danny type song has never given me that Meek Mill/OG Maco type wildin' vibe but these songs did.
Dec 28, 2014 I really appreciate this man, it's not often someone actually takes the time to listen to a underdeveloped artist like me and give feedback with an open mind. It's usually just very dismissive. But I promise at some point I'll perfect a sound of my own/I enjoy recording and release some higher quality s--- (recording wise) If not for a huge fan base, but just for you hahah

Mar 26, 2015 not bad actually. i still need to listen to those last two tracks, but i feel like on some of these you could've adapted to the beat a little better. track 1 for example, i feel that you wanted to start off the tape with crazy energy but i don't think the beat asked for that. It was a busy beat and I kind of wanted to hear some more chill vocals to contrast it. idk that might just be me. only other thing i have to say is on track 5 (i think?) the thug influence almost sounds like biting. like it's hard to not compare you to him which isn't a good thing imo. Impressive overall tho just those couple things that jumped out at me on first listen.
