but you're just going to trade out eminem stans for drake and kendrick fans at that point.. i mean if that's the direction you're going then thats your guys decision but its hardly an improvement.. to generate real discussion you should be targeting fans of the genre not hardcore stans of the specific artists.

Right now there are only two big hip hop forums and they both s--- imo...one was innovative as f--- but looks outdated now and filled with brain dead idiots...the other is 97% smilie posting with no real discussions

We are building this to be the best hip hop site online and i agree with you that artist sections can be bad...but think of this as a strategic move... Cuz thats what it is

I personally disagree with what @theg is saying about artist sections, imo it's a win-win because it doesn't pollute Music sxn with the same artists over and over and also encourages narrow-minded stans (not using that term to mean em fans I use it to mean any type of fan that goes overboard) to stay in one place.

So it attracts new members AND sorts out the s-----y ones while opening a lane for new artists to be spoken on in music sxn

it paints a picture of a site and community that put certain artists (drake eminem and kendrick in this case) on a plateau and then lumps everyone else into the "misc" or "other" category. its just stupid and if you don't WANT to be a drank/eminem/kendrick stan forum, then it's ridiculous to have them there.

But @Koolo said somewhere that the artists will change based on relevance/need, meaning that it doesn't have to become an echo chamber between stans of certain groups. He said the Kendrick and Drake sxns will stay. I don't see why drake (no hate just don't see what puts him above other choices like Cole or Ye) but given the site name a permanent Kendrick sxn makes total sense.

And idk you're acting like stans won't come if there's not their specific artist sxn, as if like some Lil Wayne fan will come in here one day and go "oh s--- there's not a dedicated platform for me to discuss Weezy that's seperated from the general community I'm outtie". Like delusional people are gonna show up no matter what we shouldn't let that deter us from having artists relevant irl be relevant to the site
