Jan 8, 2015 Is 2015 going to be the new golden era of hiphop? With releases from DMX x Swizz Beatz album Snoop Dogg x Pharell - Bush Wu-Block - Hidden Gems Possibly Run The Jewels 3 Cannibal Ox - Blade Of the Ronin Ludacris - Ludaversal Red & m--- - Blackout 3 MF DOOM being on the deluxe edition of Prhyme DOOMstarks (MF DOOM x Ghostface killah) With releases like that, and much more to come plus all the good underground releases we might be heading towards the second golden era of hiphop. Discuss! Edit: maybe BDK will drop a new album this year, it's been a while.
Jan 8, 2015 I'm not looking forward to hardly any of the things you named. Most of them are washed up or at least well beyond their prime. Anyway, the Golden Age refers to an origin, not a superior time. So no. Not really.
Jan 8, 2015 Nahh, I said & much more at the end. is YG really that good, never checked him out. The golden age refers to the 90s, which is considered the best era of hiphop. But if the ones I referred to release great albums, we might get another golden era, or a silver era, lol. Ludacris can still spit, check out his ludaverses, those are fire. If he can spit like that on ludaversal, then this might be his best effort since 2005. DMX is still a f---ing beast. Cannibal Ox' first album was so much years ahead of their time, if they can still spit like this, their album is going to be n° 1 album of the year. Red & m--- never dissapoint. Snoop dogg & pharell made great music in the past, and I'm sure this album will be his best since TBCT. Which rappers that were washed up were you talking about tho?
Jan 8, 2015 DMX was great. Undisputed was a bit of a let down because almost all songs were released / leaked years before. I'm sure him working with swizz beatz again will bring the best out of him, how can a "Real Hip Hop" fan NOT like/ respect DMX. and as far as luda, I'm pretty sure you haven't heard his ludaverses, I'm sure if he can spit like that troughout his album, and it not being like battle of the sexes, it can be pretty good
Jan 8, 2015 d--- i edited that cuz im trying to be nicer to ppl im sorry u had to see it like that but you probly shouldnt hover over threads
Jan 8, 2015 DMX is a beast if it comes to taking drugs, but musically he is more irrelevant than D12.
Jan 8, 2015 I did, is he from cali? When I hear a cali rapper, I wanna hear some typical westcoast beats
Jan 8, 2015 He's irrelevant now, because he lost abillity to make good music. If he was good people would still care about him. Isn't it obvious?
Jan 8, 2015 No it isn't. It's not because people stopped giving a f--- about him, that he isn't good anymore.
Jan 8, 2015 DMX can't spit anything new. He'll use the same dawg/cat metaphor, call someone imaginary a p---- and say he gets down for real for his dawgs. That is played out. It's like watching old people trying to show you the same magic trick with the coin for 30 years. He's too old to do anything new. Using his own type of metaphor: "you cant teach an old dog new tricks".
