I can see Jon Snow becoming it based on his deeds during the Winter. He's going be an integral part of the fate of the seven kingdoms. He'd have to finally abandon his watch.

"Dragons never stop growing as long as they live, and they can live for centuries, though many died in combat before reaching such an age" Still a really wack way to use it in the episode. They could have had it shielding Danerys and taking punishment. That would have been a lot more acceptable. Lots of ways to fix it.
Jun 8, 2015 Yep, for reference, the targaryens' oldest dragon had lived for like 200 years I don't know what happens next, but it makes sense to do something this drastic; danny's storyline has been progressing really slow :/ edit: also, regarding this episode in particular, it's a nice parallel between her and stannis if you think about it
Jun 8, 2015 I hate Danerys' timeline. It just doesn't work having her be involved in things so disparate from the rest of the characters. Not to mention the actress fails to do anything interesting with the performance besides almost get nude. So many other characters could have used that screen time.
Jun 8, 2015 Yeah it was pretty epic when the dragon came to their rescue, but I was surprised that a few f---ing spears injured it that much. Anyone else notice that Dany got touched by Jorah who has greyscale? & Stannis is a cold MFer.
Jun 8, 2015 The script doesn't really do her many favours, for example last season she was stuck on a throne listening to requests all day and had to end her scenes with corny lines like "i'm a queen and I will rule as a queen". She's not great, but she had done a good job imo when she actually had more to work with. She's very important and a fan favourite so there's no way that she won't get that much time (hot + "dragons, woo"), but I also would prefer to see other characters get more screen time.

They're shoehorning that crap in their because she is a fan favorite. Based exclusively on being hot by the way. Brenn and Cersei are infinitely better acted, better written, better performed, etc.
Jun 8, 2015 You can't do anything considering the situation because the actual storyline can't change, she has to stay there until her dragons can fight and all she can do is improve as leader and f--- mercenaries (she did show some kind of growth when she kicked jorah out imo, but other than that not much). Do you have complaints about her in previous seasons (before the 4th)? They should reduce her screen time but they can't/won't, so it doesn't matter. Headey or Dormer could probably do a better job at it, but filler is always filler. What happened on the last episode was the best way to speed things up. edit: also, she's aiming to return to westeros to become queen, you could say that what's happening there is irrelevant to her
Jun 8, 2015 But they can do something about it. They can cut her screen time. The only thing stopping that is the pandering which is a copout. I haven't liked her as a character since the first or second season. She's a horrible actress. Not emotive, not unique, nothing but a pretty face. There's a million of her in Hollywood. There shouldn't be any filler in a show with 55 characters based on long as h--- novels.
Jun 8, 2015 Pls stop hating Idk, I only started disliking her when the filler started (not saying that she's close to the best of the actresses there but I think she was decent up until that point ). I agree with you about the filler, but I still believe that it's unavoidable in her case. They can't deny the viewers their fan service. ... I'm saying all that without having watched anything from the 5th season yet, because the previous one ended up boring me
