Jun 27, 2016 they basically did visually, just not verbally. immediately after we saw Lyanna's baby it immediately cuts to a close up of Jon. But what did she whisper to Ned just before she died? If the R+L=J theory is correct, she told Ned that this baby's father was Rhaegar, meaning that Jon Snow's true blood is a mix of Targaryen and Stark. You hear her tell Ned, "They'll k--- him." Had King Robert Baratheon found out that this baby had Targaryen blood, he would have killed him, because this would have given Jon Snow claim to the Iron Throne. As such, Ned said the child was his own, protecting Jon from Robert. And while the show hasn't yet officially confirmed this, the theory seems pretty sound in light of this scene.
Jun 27, 2016 that's what i'm saying didn't happen -- they chose to have her whisper that Raegar was the father, rather than coming out with it... we all know it's true, the entire internet knows its true...it sucks that they're gonna drag this out as a BIG UNVEILING later on, when it's gonna just be a "no s---" moment for the majority of fans now.
Jun 27, 2016 tl;dr but.... If you guys are wondering why we never heard lyanna talk bout Rhaegar she said "His name is ????, If rob finds about him he will k--- him, you know he will, keep him safe, promise me ned" or something along them lines. The "If rob finds out about him he will k--- him" line confirms the baby is of Targaryen since Rob hates them all and wanted every one dead. He even wanted Dani's head when she was like 12-13. Rhaegar the only real option cos the show relies on people to remember every little detail and we know that Rhaegar and Lyanna went off together and then during the siege he had her protected in the TOJ probably cos shes pregnant. When Jon finds out from Bran he will probably be told who his father and mother is in season 7. The moment he finds out he should give Sansa the "Queen of the north" title and go to Kings Landing because he's rightful heir to the throne and more people will listen to him about the WW if he's king
Jun 27, 2016 oh word. that's likely what will happen... bran will tell him, he'll relinquish the throne to sansa, he'll meet up with his other half-sister Dani, and they'll all raid kings landing together, along just demolishing the f---er.
Jun 27, 2016 Dani is his aunt, Since she is Rhaegars sister Dani is probably going to hate the fact that He has now taken any right she had legitimately to throne away. Wouldn't be surprised if they fight each other at some point.
Jun 27, 2016 This. Daenarys won't just be okay with giving up the Iron Throne. Drama to come between her and Jon, I think.
Jun 27, 2016 Thought: Another big theory is that Tyrion may possibly be Targaryen, son of Joanna Lannister and Aerys Targaryen. Wouldn't this give him a bigger claim to the Iron Throne than Daenarys or Jon?
Jun 27, 2016 If it were true, it would be difficult to prove. Maybe Bran could prove it but then people have to buy into the idea of The 3 Eyed Raven. Whereas Jon can be proven not only by Bran but definitely Howland Reed, assuming he's still alive. I was hoping there would be a scene with Howland after he appeared in the first ToJ flashback. There were some servants in the ToJ, if they could be tracked down somehow (assuming they're still alive), they could also confirm Jon's birth at least.
Jun 27, 2016 nah, Tyrion would have the same claim to the throne that Dani has Rhaegar was always next in line. The torch be handed down to Rhaegars true born instead of a sibling (Dani,Tyrion, Viserys ect..)
Jun 27, 2016 Still interesting how Tyrion could technically have a larger claim to the Iron Throne than Daenerys.
