Yeah. It's highs are higher, its sound is more refined, it would score higher on a track by track basis than GKMC, its "lows" (really are none) are no where near GKMC's lows, etc etc

Money trees and maad city are undeniably on MBDTF's level but the rest are not

Aopp has a bunch of incredible moments, but it's too hopsin-like with the content. Sing for me/dying of thirst is too long. Backseat is pretty flawless ur right

Also by "MBDTF level" I mean like a 10/10. Money trees and maad city are 10/10s. The rest are still good to great (except for real and Compton)

MBDTF did not have a low imo and was beautiful all around

Half of GKMC was amazing, a lot of the rest was top tier, but it's lows were too low to beat MBDTF

SAM/IDOT isn't too long, being two tracks merged together might give it that perception though. You have to appreciate the irony of what you're saying, considering how over-extended MBDTF is, with it's 5min long robot voice instrumentals.

Art Of Peer Pressure is the best track on the album, and one of the USP's of the album with Money Trees in terms of using obscure samples.. and making them work for Hip Hop. The first person perspective, the switch to action dialogue was done to perfection, it felt cinematic; 10/10 track.

i never said it wasn't a great song lol. i thought you guys all knew how highly i rate gkmc. mbdtf is just better

Even though the halves of SAM/IDOT are separately titled, it's still one track. And, especially in context, it's overlong seeing as how Real goes on for seemingly forever right afterwards. It's start of a lull on an otherwise relatively flawless album so far.

The MBDTF isn't really appropriate - even when there's a long outro or intro, it's no where near as monotonous as a 10 min rap song. The ending of Runaway is fantastic and you're completely engaged by then, the start of the album is usually equally satisfying and effective at bringing you in, etc. The outro blame game could be too much for some, but I probably know just as many people that don't skip it (shoutout to @Swizz ).

Kendrick will never top gkmc to me. its universally acclaimed and EVERY song is 10/10 except Poetic justice which is 9/10

as for MBDTF, only 2 tracks are 10/10... the rest goes from 5 to 8 imo. MBDTF songs are the definition of "that s--- IS TOO LONG" dude want his instrumentals track to be 1 hour long so bad.

sherane (one of the greatest homages to A Day In The Life Of Benjamin Andre)
Real
Sing About Me
Good Kid
Maad City

of course a lot of other tracks are also 10/10 but I think the 5 songs I mentioned are even better.
