Sweating yet lol? I don't know who the other viable nominee is at this point? The thought of Cruz scares me more than Trump tbh...

im sweating a bit more than i was... beading, lets say hah. its still such a large field - my guess today would be once the primaries actually start and the establishment coalesces around an alternative, trump will start to unravel. but ive been wrong about his longevity thus far soo lol.

agreed about cruz btw. hes actually capable as a politician. the tragedy of trump is he validates the rest of them and makes someone like cruz etc seem somehow legit/mainstream

I've gotten to the point where I don't really care about the election. Yeah I know that's not good, but with all the bs going on in politics I've become drained. As long as Trump, Carson, Cruz, Christie, Bush, Rubio, Santorum, or Hillary don't become President I'm fine.

Trump won't win the primary and neither will Bernie. However, I do agree with a lot of what Trump is about to be honest. The country has some serious issues and people are sick of traditional politics on both sides of the aisle. At the same time he has zero tact and he doesn't carry himself with the professionalism necessary to govern one of the most powerful nations in the world.

tbh, Trump very well could be the nominee at this point. I can't believe I'm saying that, but consider this:

We are two weeks out from voting, exactly. Of the first three states, Trump has a dominant lead in two (NH and SC, which are back-to-back), and he's essentially tied for first in the other (Iowa). Cruz could potentially still win in Iowa, but the recent trend over the last week is that he's dropped a bit, right? Then next up is Nevada, where Trump is leading, and after that is Florida, where Trump has a big lead (bigger than Bush + Rubio combined, f---ing lol). So then it's pretty close to over, right? I mean, how else does this play out?

You could be right but recent history does show that there have been candidates who lead national polls or even win some states but still don't get the nomination. Not to mention Trump doesn't have a very broad appeal within the Republican Party.

yeah i may be eating crow hah. i still hope once the field thins, the establishment will rally around an alternative candidate. trump still only has a plurality of like ~35% -- in other words, if say, rubio can s--- up bush/kasich's support, etc. he could still prove to be a challenger. (even tho hes obama-lite)

that said @Swizz's analysis seems right... and is scary. (politico is reporting trump might get the biggest vote of african americans for the gop since reagan) what is going on

I didn't mention national polls at all in that post though, I went state by state....

I would also dispute that Trump doesn't have broad appeal in the GOP...in a 12-candidate field, he's sitting at 35%!

But If I'm being serious I like Rubio a lot. He seems to be able to win the general election unlike the other candidates. Trump is cool but he doesn't tickle my pickle and i liked Cruz a little bit more after the debate but meh

The GOP will never nominate him even if he wins all the primaries/caucuses.

When I said broad appeal I meant within the republican establishment not the voter base lol. Kind of like what Captain Awsome said, hopefully the establishment can rally behind one candidate once individuals begin to drop out. You could be right though, I just refuse to think Trump will actually win the nomination lol

People taking that comment out of context is ridiculous, everyone obviously knows what he meant. I hate the f---ing dramatization of everything in this country.

If Trump and Biden had a debate, it would be the funniest, most innapropriate, cringe worthy exchange in history.
