Feb 26, 2016 I'm saying the fact that Obama had no FP experience going in should make us think twice about how we judge the value of experience in these situations. Someone who isn't laden with all the baggage of the Defense paradigm, who's capable of listening to advisers and thinking critically about strategic and moral issues, is going to have a more sober perspective than someone who's fallen into the rhythm of how things are done. If you want new ways of thinking, you need to empower outsiders.
Feb 26, 2016 to be fair, he'd served on the foreign relations committee so while he didn't have biden or kerrys breadth of experience, he wasn't exactly green either. and his level of experience made him knowledgeable while at the same time serving as a contrast to the rumsfeldian hawk stances at the time. diff political time.
Feb 26, 2016 Can't wait until 4 years from now when the GOP debates are 10 wacky Republican celebrities bust yo' mama jokes and Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum.
Feb 26, 2016 The 2020 Republican field will be Gary Busey, Clint Eastwood's chair from the 2012 GOP convention, a piece of toast in the shape of Reagan, and George Pataki
Feb 26, 2016 Steve Baldwin will lead in the polls for a couple months at least... Victoria Jackson will be the noms veep. Dog the Bounty Hunter could be a sleeper pick to win it.
Feb 26, 2016 these are not abstract scenarios. the history and baggage each world leader (and country as a whole) brings to the table in any negotiation--or critically, each military conflict--would take months or years to be briefed on properly. in that respect, experience can be key, and i don't know how anyone would be better prepared than a secretary of state. and to be real with you, the "more sober perspective than someone who's fallen into the rhythm of how things are done" bit reads to me like trump-ish sloganeering. let's not diminish how smart and qualified people like clinton are. four years in the state department doesn't turn you into a mindless automaton. i don't want jimmy fallon's hand on the button because he's an "outsider."
Feb 26, 2016 People who are sympathetic to clintons cause, do you thing the email scandal has merit? Or do you think it will blow over soon?
Feb 26, 2016 One of my friends brought up an interesting question to me the other day. As a democrat and/or liberal, do you root for Trump to win the republican nomination in hopes to get an easy general election win or do you hope that a more qualified candidate wins the nomination (I guess in this case Rubio) because even the slightest chance of a Trump presidency is not worth the risk? @WPG @Swizz @captain awesome
Feb 26, 2016 your question presupposes two things that i would disagree with: that trump would in any way make for an easier general election, and that i would rather have a president rubio than a president trump.
Feb 26, 2016 You don't think Hillary (assuming she wins) running against trump would be an easier general election compared to if she had to run against Rubio? I think Trump winning the nomination will really push more minorities/youth to vote in this election. Despite his success so far, he's not very well-liked among the American public overall.
Feb 26, 2016 Hillary will not have an easy time with Trump. That election will come right down to the wire. You better believe that he will hammer her with the scandals at the debates, unlike Bernie he will play dirty too. Based off of what I have seen Hillary would beat Cruz/Rubio easier than Trump, if she even defeats Trump at all. By the way. People that say he isn't well liked is kind of silly. He for sure has a lot of haters, no doubt. But He draws huge crowds and gets tons of support with whatever he does, but like everything else there are critics. Why not point to the positives rather than the negatives? he has tons of support from a wide variety of people, not just the hard core "uneducated white people" the MSM would have you believing. Wanna see not well liked? Check out Hillary or Ted Cruz. Those people aren't even well liked within their parties.
Feb 26, 2016 I think trump v hillary would make for the most entertaining presidential debates of all time... possibly only surpassed by trump v kanye in 2020
Feb 27, 2016 “we will have so much winning if I get elected, that you may get bored with winning.” Does this sound like "Vote for Pedro and all your dreams will come true" to everyone else as well? I've said if Ivanka weren't my daughter, perhaps I'd be dating her (2006) If I weren't happily married and, ya know, her father ..." (2015) - Trump Can you imagine what the Republicans would be saying if President Obama had this going on with Malia?
Feb 27, 2016 Maybe it's just his weird infatuation with his daughter but those pictures of him & his daughter are disturbing.
Feb 28, 2016 Uh, no lol. You're just wrong. Trump's favorability numbers make Hillary's favorability numbers look like the Pope's.
