Jan 25, 2015Sorry 4 the Wait 2 was solid. There were definitely some tracks that I skip ( Drunk in Love) when I re-listen too it, so that automatically makes it not a 10/10. I feel that Weezy's references to his skateboard were lame. For example in the beginning of Dreams and Nightmares, you hear a b--- in the background and he comes on the mic to say, "that my skateboard". I feel like he could have gone through the mixtape with out the references. I was also confused to hear Riff Raff at the beginning of Used To feat. Drake. With Riff Raff's overall quirkiness, I do not feel that he belonged anywhere on the mixtape. He isn't bad as an artist, but I don't feel that he was an appropriate choice for the song. On the complete other side of the spectrum, Wayne had some very clever lines, as usual. His lines weren't quite as clever as they were in 6 Foot 7 Foot but he had some that came pretty close. "I got b------s that'll k--- for me/Charles Manson" and "One of the wildest bees in my hive,/I’ll sting a b---- and die anytime.” His song Selsun Blue is filled with wordplay and intelligent lines. Not only were his lines complete fire, his remixes were the same way. From his remix of Migos' "Jumping Like Jordan" (Trap House) to his remix of "Hot n-----" by Bobby Shmurda, and not to mention he made "No Type" sound even better. Overall, Wayne had a very solid mixtape where the many good things, out weighed the very few bad things, leading me to give it an 8/10.
