But most people here already think Deja Vu is godly (because it is). That's one Em song that has only gotten better with age IMO.

And regarding the first line, tell that to Paul Wall. Say what you will about his music, but he was pretty popular for a few years.

    humans innately love hearing rhyming
    eminem rhymes better than anyone
eminem has more fans than anyone besides elvis, mj and elton
    what's the issue exactly

What is this point even in response to?

Humans innately have the drive to care for their offspring, but that doesn't mean there aren't deadbeat dads.

There is no issue here. Not everyone values rhyming ability over every other aspect of music.

it was in response to you mentioning paul wall, I was saying his fame was relative. also I edited out garth brooks because mmlp2 put em ahead of him

and rhyming is just the most important part of the set of skills needed to rap (rhyming, storytelling, flow with beat, metaphor, etc) it's not the only part

On a technical level, you're right that rhyming is the most defining characteristic of rap (it wouldn't be rapping without rhyming), but that doesn't necessarily mean everyone is going to value it above everything else.

What I probably value most in music is an artist's ability to create a seamless aesthetic/overall sound for an album. My five personal favorite albums of last year all did a great job of that (Piñata, Cilvia Demo, RTJ2, My Krazy Life, Days Before Rodeo) and it's a large part of the reason I like Kanye so much. It's why SSLP is my favorite Eminem album (and it doesn't have a bad song on it).

imo there is no such a thing like a most important part for the set of skills needed to rap properly.

just wanted to point out that ability to rhyme is a basic function of rapping, but isn't anywhere near the "most" important one (if that is even a sensible thing to say in the first place).

if strictly rhyming were the most important thing then you would be able to judge the greatest hip hop songs of all time without ever hearing them, just reading the lyrics

What in Davy Jones' locker did ye just bark at me, ye scurvy bilgerat? I'll have ye know I be the meanest cutthroat on the seven seas, and I've led numerous raids on fishing villages, and r---d over 300 wenches. I be trained in hit-and-run pillaging and be the deadliest with a pistol of all the captains on the high seas. Ye be nothing to me but another source o' swag. I'll have yer guts for garters and keel haul ye like never been done before, hear me true. You think ye can hide behind your newfangled computing device? Think twice on that, scallywag. As we parley I be contacting my secret network o' pirates across the sea and yer port is being tracked right now so ye better prepare for the typhoon, weevil. The kind o' monsoon that'll wipe ye off the map. You're sharkbait, fool. I can sail anywhere, in any waters, and can k--- ye in o'er seven hundred ways, and that be just with me hook and fist. Not only do I be top o' the line with a cutlass, but I have an entire pirate fleet at my beck and call and I'll d---ed sure use it all to wipe yer arse off o' the world, ye dog. If only ye had had the foresight to know what devilish wrath your jibe was about to incur, ye might have belayed the comment. But ye couldn't, ye didn't, and now ye'll pay the ultimate toll, you buffoon. I'll s--- fury all over ye and ye'll drown in the depths o' it. You're fish food now, lad.

because that guy has been mostly bad for like a decade. I have issues with LL Cool J being on there for pretty much the same reason.
you're the one who is obsessed with race because, well, you're stupid. Eminem's race has been nothing but a benefit to him, giving him exposure and opportunities he might not otherwise have had.

"mostly bad for like a decade" meaning the last six years? in other words this one considers everything since relapse bad? or are you saying most of the music put out between 2005 and now has been bad?

just wanna be sure what I'm "replying" to here

what a dumb question. do you speak English?

most of everything he has put out since 2004, including Encore, has been bad. Encore was bad, Relapse was terrible, Recovery was abysmal, and MMLP2 was below average. Throw in D12 World, The Re Up, BME, and ShadyXV and you make things even worse.
