Imo athletes should for sure be able to profit off their name and should probably be entitled to some revenue sharingOrdinary Joel, Enigma, lil uzi vert stan and 2 others like this. -

I don't know enough about how it works right now to say specifics but they should definitely be compensated considering how much money athletics make for schools.Ordinary Joel, Enigma, lil uzi vert stan and 1 other person like this. -

This case could upend the college sports business model, antitrust laws.
So: my question to you - should college athletes be paid?
the tradeoff, some say, is the opportunity of a free education etc. The total athletics revenue reported among all NCAA athletics departments in 2019 was $18.9 billion.Ordinary Joel, DKC, jankland and 1 other person like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

it **is** wild to me - gambling on sports is all but legalized. those old walls (which ended pete rose, or black sox legacies) have cratered . so the idea we need our athletes in a safe box while everyone else profits off them is naive clearly.Ordinary Joel, lil uzi vert stan and Worm like this. -

Obviously the big stars should be compensated more but everyone should get a piece of sales on their Jersey's. Bigger stars should be able to get endorsement deals to make it more profitable for them. The thing that sucks is that they deserve to get a piece but it will kind of ruin the sport. That's the thing that makes college better than NFL to me is that these guys don't look at it like a business and they just go out and play to win. This will change that. But really whatever gets me a NCAA game to play I'm all for.
Also gonna be tough if you have a Heisman who's making bank and he says f--- doing homework and school in general. Are they going to suspend him? Separate actually getting an education to playing a sport?Ordinary Joel, lil uzi vert stan and RetiredAccount like this. -

Yes even if it's just a stipend of some sort, they should be paid. They undoubtedly should be able to profit off their name/brand.Ordinary Joel, RetiredAccount and lil uzi vert stan like this. -
