    Not technically, but when I rank his albums I will absolutely count Side B as a different album than Side A.

    Ostensibly yes, officially no

    It was probably a label decision to bloat streaming numbers

    Which is such a shame. I don't know why they did it like this...

    It benefits nothing. It doesn't benefit Em, because this 'new album' will be overlooked, as just a deluxe... / sales-wise it doesn't help, deluxe albums sell bad vs. new album...

    I just don't get why they did this.

    This is a new album. Deserves its spot in his discog.

    MTBMB obviously became a double album with this one. It's nice to have one like that from Em. Not sure why everybody is having trouble with this decision. I don't think it'd have change in numbers too drastically because it's a deluxe. Once people check it out, they will like it and it'll contribute to the MTBMB album sales which is good because albums don't sale like they used to do and this will obviously help. Plus, the whole concept was same as MTBMB, probably few songs were the ones that meant for MTBMB Side A which was leftover due to sampling clearance issues. (Discombobulated might be one of them but actually every song he doesn't talk have a line about Covid might be from original sessions anyway.)

    Probably he was gonna orginally release MTBMB as 24 song album or something with deluxe but he couldn't do it (sampling s---). Then he recorded many more tracks obviously as the time goes by. At some point, samples were cleared and he had few album worth new materials too, he decided to release a Side B with them to MTBMB which was the best way to go in my mind. Btw, It was not part 2, it was just deluxe edition but since he had some new songs added to it, he also called it the Side B to give the idea of this is not being you average deluxe edition but not new album neither, just the continuation of the same album.
