How the f--- is it supposed promote his label if it doesn't sell or reach the mainstream? This is the dumbest defense of an album I've ever seen.

I thought Legacy on MMLP 2 was one of the best songs he did. I played it at least 50 times when it was released, but now

Because this is an album pretty much just meant for his hardcore fanbase. Singles like The Monster, LTWYL, and the pop singles from earlier in his career were intentionally made to try to reach the mainstream and generate sales. He didn't do that with Shady XV. The main promotion for this project was a cypher with his label mates. That shows what the target audience for the album was intended to be.

It can't be meant to promote his label and "just for hardcore fans"/"not for the mainstream" at the same time. All his hardcore fans already know about yela and SH. They're contradicting statements.

You're being too literal and Arch Dogg is bad at explaining.

We all know about his label mates, we just don't care. By releasing a comp album, it forces us to care if we want to hear the new Eminem and thus the label mates have newly generated funds thanks to Em. It's less about promoting and more about giving them a paycheck. With this in mind, Eminem can have his songs for "hardcore" fans while at the same time providing money for the label because people will buy anything with Eminems name on it.

Anyways, Guts Over Fear was on the album and that's mainstream.
Even this post contradicts itself in a way.. So really, conclusion is that Shady XV as a whole was a failure whether he wanted it to sell or not, because it didn't sell and still no one cares about the label.

I wouldn't say that thinking Eminem was GOAT at one time would be a bad/embarrassing opinion. At one time he was easily on his way to that status. A lot of us jumped the gun on it, sure, but it was a pretty popular opinion at one time (Still is on a scale larger than hip hop).

    Embarrassing opinion though:

I saw Yelawolf in concert before listening to anything of his (Shortly after he signed to Shady), and thought he was going to be great. He had an excellent stage presence, great production for a live crowd, and I couldn't make out what he was saying for s---, so it all worked in his favor...Then I went home and downloaded everything I could find of his. It stayed on my computer for about a week.

Not sure whether it's a really bad opinion but I saw Ne-yo becoming a GOAT, like legend status. I thought he had it all at one point.

If he hadn't become a drug addict, he would've literally been regarded as the greatest rapper to ever do it.

Now he isn't even in most people's top 5. Imagine how bad Marshall feels

The average music listener loves em, hip hop fans - not as much as we once did.

    Eminem is still winning technically.
