Just hip hop, off the top of my head-
Wu Tang Clan (with ODB's son)-Probably 2012 in Milwaukee
GZA solo doing Liquid Swords cover to cover- 2009 in Chicago
RA The Rugged Man- 2007 in Milwaukee
Busta Rhymes- Once at House of Blues in Chicago, also at Rock the Bells 2009 in Chicago
Nas/Damian Marley- Rock the Bells 2009
Lupe Fiasco- House of Blues Chicago, 2009 and in Milwaukee 2006/7
Eminem- 2011 Lollapalooza
Game- House of Blues 2009 Chicago
Immortal Technique- Once in NYC late 2008 or early 2009, once in Chicago 2010
Nas solo- House of Blues 2010
Kanye West- Summerfest 2011
Outkast- Summerfest 2014
Snoop Dogg- In Chicago Malice in Wonderland era
m--- and Red- ^opener for that show, were way better than the main event
Talib Kweli- Multiple times in Milwaukee and Chicago
KRS-One- Rock the Bells 2009
Slaughterhouse- Rock the Bells 2009
The Roots- Probably half a dozen times at least, Summerfest, Rock the Bells, other shows in Milwaukee
Common- Chicago 2010
Rhymefest- Chicago 2010 (this ended up being for the weird Michael Jackson project he put out)
Chali 2na- Rock the Bells 2009
The year I lived in Chicago from 2009-2010 was obviously the best time for having the opportunity to see a lot of good shows. There was a place near where I lived that had a lot of great shows and I am sure I am forgetting some, plus I am sure I am forgetting some from Milwaukee pre-2009.
Haven't had the chance to get out as much the last few years, but only need to check Jay off the list and I'll have seen all the live shows I feel like I NEED to see. Would love to have a shot at seeing Cunninglynguists, never worked out so far.
EDIT: found some old pictures on Facebook. Completely forgot that Bizarre as a solo act and Devin the Dude opened up for that Snoop Show, too.
f---ing ridiculous
s---, this is a trip down memory lane. I also won a mic signed by Talib Kweli at a show in Chicago at the House of Blues

As far as rap goes I've seen almost all my favorites:
- Kanye x2, Lupe Fiasco x1, Pharrell (w/NERD) x1, Pusha T x1 (Yeezus tour in Las Vegas & Glow in the Dark tour in Phoenix)
- Eminem, D12, Obie Trice, Stat Quo, G-Unit, Lil Jon & EB (Anger Management 3 in Phoenix)
- Childish Gambino x2, Danny Brown x1 (Camp tour and Because the Internet tour)
- Gym Class Heroes (performed at ASU - Travie was sick and it was pretty bad)
- Chamillionaire (small local venue lol)
- Snoop Dogg & The Game (How the West Was Won tour in Phoenix)
I'd like to see:
- Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (they performed at some random Microsoft store opening here a few months ago but I didn't want to wait overnight to get tickets on a workday)
- Big Sean (he performed here Super Bowl weekend but I didn't find out til like an hour before)
- B.o.B. (performed in Las Vegas recently but the 5 hour drive was too much)
- Jay-Z/Beyoncé tour (too expensive)
- Eminem/Rihanna tour (closest one was LA, 6 hour drive)
- Ludacris
- Obie Trice (I'd like to see a full concert)
- Royce Da 5'9"
I've probably seen 2x more non-rap concerts, my wife likes to see a lot. Most recently: Lana del Rey, Fall Out Boy, Lorde, Jenny Lewis. Brand New concert is next in May, then Taylor Swift in August.
That's my concert history, thanks for reading. It took a long time to type on my phone.Last edited: Mar 18, 2015FlawlessT, Ordinary Joel, VMO2 and 1 other person like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -
