Jan 19, 2016 7.5/10 Great album, tracks like Truth Gonna Hurt You, Permanent Scar, Turn On The Lights, and Neva End are here to stay. Definitely Future's most commercial work but still a good album nonetheless.
Jan 19, 2016 I'd give Pluto a 7/10 I like it, but unfortunately the only memorable part of the album is Snoop Dogg's verse on Homocide (?). There are several great songs, but the names aren't coming to me right now. He's improved greatly since then. Gonna give it another listen in an hour, so maybe my rating will change.
Jan 19, 2016 It had some great tracks (The Future Is Now, Homicide, I'm Trippin, etc.) but a good handful of tracks, specifically the poppier ones, just didn't age well for me, they feel & sound a tad dated these days tbh (Astronaut Chick, Turn Off The Lights, You Deserve It, etc.) The album, for the most part, just felt a bit too safe & generic imo. There was lots of room for improvement for Future here, but for a debut album? an introduction? It's alright. Imma give it a 6/10
Jan 19, 2016 I like the ballad tracks on here. It's very pop-rap for a Future project but it works. 6.8/10 For Stankonia I would've voted like maybe a 7.9 or 8/10 I think.
Jan 19, 2016 8.1/10 Back in the day this was my intro to Future Vandross, at the time I could partly see the appeal considering he's a talented song-crafter but I felt that there were moments on the album were sub-par compared to the highlights. Years later I threw this thing back on and I took it for granted; he juggled pop-rap and the gritty street s--- to great success and it's full of top-notch production. In the accompanying years after this dropped you can pick up a lot of flows & cadences that artists definitely got from Pluto. The re-issued Pluto 3D from later in 2012 was much better sequenced and had songs that should have belonged on the original.
Jan 20, 2016 d--- i missed outkast album lol im trash. I woulda gave it a 10 just to offset some of those 5s Pluto is a super fun project. I actually saw future perform live when he had this out. Fanbase was nothing compared to what it is now, but he had bangers. Im glad he found a lane that works for him, because as much as I dont mind the commercial sound he had here, a few of the tracks on this sound forced. Still think its a fun album to listen to front to back tho. 7/10
Jan 24, 2016 This is a project I enjoy but not as much as the others here. There's a lot of filler considering the deluxe and 3D version of the project. Koolo had me revisiting it after his review but it was still the same for me. It's a pretty fun listen altogether and I still regularly play 6-7 of the songs. 6/10 As a side note, my future fans will appreciate this video. I'm sure most of you have seen it but it's too good to not to share.
Jan 24, 2016 7.8/10 Though this is one of Future's most accessible tapes, it probably took me the longest to get into. I might be in the minority but I don't like the 3D version as much, but that might just be because I heard the original first so the track order doesn't vibe with me very well. I actually really like Parachute as the first track. It's kind of a nice balance between Future the Pop Star and Future the Monster.
Jan 24, 2016 this is his best delivery and has some of his best songs ever tho, Turn out the lights, Neva End and Im trippin are prolly my top 3 songs by him
Jan 24, 2016 Based on 10 scores, Section Eighty gives Pluto a 7.1 Pretty fair score actually considering he turned into a monster and continued his artistic growth in the proceeding years. Pretty dope to see how far he's come along and that this album was no fluke regarding his capabilities and popularity. Next up we have... T.I's King Seems like I'm going for an Atlanta only trend lol. Nonetheless this titanic album is turning a decade old and all things considered was a very key album in one of the best rappers of the 2000s catalog. A quick glance at the tracklist and you will very likely recognize a track or two from this album. As always feel free to give a score along with a small blurb/review. @RateThisAlbum
Jan 24, 2016 You're gonna love this one, if Tip's regal confidence doesn't blow you away then the production absolutely will
Jan 24, 2016 Haven't listened to this album in a bajillion years. Imma give it another listen tonight.
Jan 24, 2016 Some classic songs I still listen to, full album has been a while. Need to relisten first
Jan 24, 2016 I've listened to this album like 5-6 times in the time I've had it. It's a good album, possibly at the point of being awesome. It has a mixture of soul sound, trap sound and and urban sound and it has a song I like so much, "What U Know". However, even though trap didn't have the distinctive sound it has now; many of the songs are boring for me and don't stand out; that and they're tough to listen to for me. Despite this, one of T.I.P.'s essential albums. 7.5/10
Jan 24, 2016 I'm listening to this now as a matter of fact.. I love this album; even though Trap Muzik is my favorite album from him.. this is definitely a classic in my eyes 'King Back' is a great opening track.. 8.5/10
