I understand and appreciate the complexity of his rhyme schemes these days but what happened to the musicality? Even during his 'drug years' and subsequent Relapse years, there were plenty of songs he put out that you could nod your head to. Besides for a few exceptions, pretty much everything since 2010 has just sounded scattered and random, especially on Shady XV. Not to mention, its one thing impressing with multis and intricate rhyme schemes (Tech N9ne, Busta Rhymes, Kendrick, etc.) but there's no SUBSTANCE. i have no idea what the f--- he's even talking about anymore. I read a review somewhere that claimed that Em now sounds like a genius gone mad, just rambling to himself about whatever comes to mind and I fully agree. I think he's forgotten the most important part of the art - the music. The guy is a musician after all, all rappers are. And that requires some kind of substance and rhythm that he's just absolutely lost. We all know he can rap, thats been evident for 15-odd years. As a fan, it just feels as if he's devolved - he needs to take a step back and just focus on making SONGS.
