Feb 22, 2015 Actual song preferences aside, I noticed something. Has anyone else noticed how on Recovery and HTS, all the vocals on the songs sound as if they're coming from behind a sheet? I mean most songs on Recovery literally sound like he recorded his verses while covering his mouth with a towel. I'm not sure how I can explain this simply but I'll try. With a good pair of speakers/headphones (this is important) listen to a song on Recovery, lets use On Fire for example, or even worse Almost Famous. Now listen to a song also with yelling on MMLP2, like So Much Better. Another example for comparison sake: Won't Back Down and Baby. Listen side by side.. It sounds like when the songs on Recovery were produced, they put a slight effect on every song. Maybe it was to lessen the harshness of the yelling? But it doesn't sound natural, like natural vocals should sound. I swear I'm not losing it, if you don't have a decent set of speakers or headphones you may not notice it as much. Comments?

Feb 23, 2015 I think this article is useful for you http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/oct10/articles/it-1010.htm Just a bit mixed at the vocal
Feb 25, 2015 It's just the way they are mixed. They used some kind of weird EQ and compression chain. I honestly don't really like it, but, whatever.
