Eminem If Eminem actually went through dropping an album in 08, would he have ruined the rest of his career

I loathe people who wish King Mathers or whatever it was supposed to be called got released. Think about it. We heard the leaks & Eminem told us what he would've rapped about through select songs on Recovery (dissing people while at his worst drug stage). If it actually dropped, you wouldn't have gotten Relapse or anything after that because the ratings would've been beyond terrible (worse than the average SL rating for Relapse) & he would've either got into a worse depression or just made more embarrassing music. Think I'm wrong? Discuss.

Regardless of what he says, each album he has released was deliberate and without regrets.
He says he regrets Relapse and to an extent Recovery, but that's BS.

Interscope would not let the dude release something questionable like King Mathers. He needed more time off to reinvent himself and become the "new" Eminem we know today. If King Mathers came out, he would sound like the same Eminem we have always known and his 2nd coming would have just been another album. Instead we got Relapse/Recovery which allowed him to gain a new fan base, which he needed to stay relevant.

The big wigs that call the shots, know what they are doing. From promoting to actual song choice.

the apple and difficult>>> 90% of what came out since 08. So no,the album would have probably be better than his last 3.

You think the Apple & Difficult could save an album loaded with songs like Wee Wee, Ballin Uncontrollably & Touchdown? Unless there's another couple of vaulted songs that don't s--- a--- from that timeframe, that's a bold statement.

u dont know that? who said ballin uncontrollably would be on the album? touchdown is also pretty decent/good. we probably got 3-4-5 songs that would have been on king mathers.(apple, difficult, touchdown, beautiful(whitout the gay a--- chorus) all those songs are better than anything else he has done since.

That's the kind of music he was making in the King Mathers sessions (Beautiful was just after he stopped making bs songs) so if not that exact song something very similar. After Encore was released, Em's been quoted as saying he dgaf if his album was good I think it was one of those behind the scenes vids so I wouldn't be surprised if that attitude was around in 08 because besides a very few select songs, he did not improve after 04 from 05-08

Actually, I think we've already heard most of King Mathers

    The Apple
    Difficult
    50 Ways
    Syllables
    GOAT
    Crack A Bottle
    Beautiful
    My Darling
    Careful What You Wish For
    Elevator
    Nut Up (snippet)
    Weewee
    Ballin' Uncontrollably
    Detroit Basketball
    Its Been Real

Thats a full LP worth of material. Listen to those songs one after the next and you can hear a semblance of coherence. Some of those are unfinished, some of the worse songs (Weewee, Ballin Unctrollably) may not have made the final cut and some were touched up and put on Relapse. Still, I think it could have been a halfway decent project. I always thought Em's work on the Re Up sounded like he heard the criticism of Encore and was trying to step up his game. This may have been a continuation of that frame of mind.

Its kinda crazy how different his attitude was when on drugs back then. Callling the album King Mathers & making diss songs to Wayne & Kanye.
Its something that Eminem now wouldn't dream of doing.

i don't see how it could be much worse. in fact, if he had released something THAT bad and people gave up on him, maybe he never would have released the string of bad albums that he has now. Then he'd have three great albums and two terrible ones instead of three great albums and four bad ones.
