    @M Solo @Big Country @ODB

50 Cent was on The Breakfast Club a couple days ago, and he said something about being a hit away. He's right, if he has one smash, people are going to jump back on the wave.

And yo when I read that the energy between Fif and Floyd was good last week when they met, the first thing I thought was 'I hope he walks out with him on the 2nd' lol. Would be dope if that comes true Solo.

Great read. Massacre would have been a lot better if it didn't have the s--- filler songs like A Baltimore Love Thing, So Amazing, Ski Mask Way and Build You Up. Still a classic though that people always forget about when talking about 50.

When i was in middle school every day you would see at least 2 or 3 kids in the hallway wearing a g-unit t-shirt, i don't think any rapper has ever been as big as 50 was in his prime.

Do you think that 50 disappeared from relevance musically because of that empire falling apart, or because of his lack of actual musical talent? I think it's a combination of both. Good read though.

50 isn't on the credits but it's obviously influenced by him...I'm actually gonna look for this cd right now, HFM (I liked the sequel too) is hella slept-on

Definitely a combination of both. I've never listened to Curtis or Before I Self Destruct in full, so I can't say 100%, but they clearly didn't get as great of reception as The Massacre or Get Rich.

I think it's more like his musical talent only applied to one sub genre of hip hop and he didn't want to/couldn't adapt

But then again TI is back making timeless bangers with thugger so I don't see why fifty couldn't

He just needs to work with the right people

i read this 4 times and i didn't understand what you were trying to say b. if you're saying he fell off, he fell out of relevance, he never fell off.

50 clearly fell off from 07 onwards though.
His hooks especially were not as good & repetitive content & lyrics.

content and lyrics sure but the bit about the hooks is false.

for as bad as animal ambition was, it was a display of his elite hook game if nothing else.

I didn't listen to Animal Ambition. But the hooks on Curtis & BISD were way off his first 2 albums.
50's interviews >>> His music since 07. But 50 as a person is the one of realest rappers.

Word I feel like you slept on a lot of great hooks by him post 2007, and that's not your fault or anything, I get that you wouldn't check for an artist you no longer have interest in. But his hook game is one thing that's been consistent for the last 12+ years with him. All of these hooks are recent within a year and some. I'll also provide in variety in terms of type of hooks to show you a better display of his ability:

    Changes:

    Pilot:

    Ballin:

    Nah I'm Talkin Bout:

50 Cent helped push melody in rap to the forefront, that's a gift that time doesn't seem like it's going to take away.
