Gaga stans were more rabid than Billies and she’s hardly even a star these days, but I’d say she lasted the test of time

Has she? she's mostly irrelevant these days, and her moments of relevance happen because she's shifted her style to match today's pop.

Sure, but I wonder how much of that is nostalgia fuel of people listening to her older work, ya know?

Yeah, but that would mean her music from back then did last the test of time. Peak Gaga was a crazy time for pop music

Guess i interpreted this wrong, cause I was thinking more in terms of who's careers will last a long time of relevancy, not who's music is still played.

gaga isnt the hyper relevant mega star she was, but her song w ariana did well. she gets props for the tony bennett collab, and her oscar wasnt THAT long ago. its not 2009 anymore, but shes still pretty big imo.......

Gaga is still relevant to a degree. Shallow was f---ing huge. I’d say there’s a certain amount of Gaga’s rabid stans back then that were simply just casuals who identified with an lgbt icon rather than the artists music. Billie has more potential than Gaga had imo. She’s like 18! 50 mill on Spotify. She gets bigger every year. I guess we’ll see. Gaga has some tunes tho.

I suppose this needs a little clarity:
How long are we talking to “stand the test of time”?
    5, 10, 20 years?
What sort of relevance defines standing the test of time?
New generation knowing them? Or the music still being played on oldies stations? Massive sales?
There are a lot of undefined variables in this list that really make discussing it a moot point until these definitions are clarified further.

When it comes to rap, the big 3 we always hear about. Drake, Kendrick and Cole. I don't think there has been a big artist since them.

Number 4 imo of course, would be Future. At least for the south.

When it comes to pop, I think The Weeknd and Billie are pretty big. And Dua.

I'm leaving Taylor and Ariana out cause they already been making music for a long time.

Drake, Kendrick, Cole, Future, Thug and Travis have all proved their longevity years ago .They've all been around for most of the past decade or even longer, were the biggest names and are likely to be remembered another 10 years down the line. You might throw Uzi and Carti in that list too although they havent been around as long.

More recently I think DaBaby is a name that will be remembered. His music is monotonous but he's been inescapable for the past 2-3 years now. Cardi and Megan for sure. And definitely Griselda, as a collective. Potentially Lil Baby and Roddy Ricch but need to give them more time to see if they stick around. I thought NLE Choppa might be one but not so sure now...might land up being up being more of a Gucci/Kevin Gates type figure.
