Mar 9, 2015 Thoughts? It's been proven to work and generate huge amounts of buzz on that special release day. Really, really surprised there is a date. Don't get me wrong I'm hyped as f--- but I feel like he's not gonna sell as well. I initially thought he would outsell Drake and easily hit 1 million first week but now, I don't know n----s… Even Kanye, the great trend-setter, is sucking Beyonces d-ck. I thought it was obvious that surprise was the way to go?
Mar 9, 2015 I think it's going to be a surprise still. The artwork and tracklist haven't been revealed yet. So it may still be a surprise release. just... a surprise that's definitely coming on the 23rd of march. if that makes sense. Deff feel like he should of dropped the whole thing one day, out of the blue though. would of been crazy. That being said, the album will still be album of the year, whether it was surprise released or not.

Mar 9, 2015 I feel like the lack of an album cover and title might be on purpose as a sort of thing to build anticipation, and have people thinking about it. Top Dawg might be seeing these surprise releases and new ways to drop albums and trying a new method. I think Kendrick would have his album title by now since his projects are so conceptual.
Mar 11, 2015 The amount of hype for the album is ridiculous. Kendrick doesn't need some gimmick to just shut hip hop down for a day, it's gonna happen either way. Plus there is no way he would have sold more with a surprise release.
