    Melly mel is one of the most important and influential rappers of all time...this thread all the proof you need to know that half these posters aren't even dustheads, they just only listen to Eminem and shady/aftermath offshoots.

    melle mel is literally on a list of like five key pioneers for taking the art of rapping from a strictly live thing to a recorded medium. i’m just puzzled that someone with even a cursory interest in rap could not know who he is, whether they’re familiar with his actual work or not (though not knowing “the message” by heart is sort of bizarre to me). it’s like being a baseball fan and going “who the f--- is babe ruth?”

    I listen to a lot of hip-hop and I agree with Mel being a Pioneer, but c'mon, he's not as good as he say he is, he acts like a salty old fart.
