Mar 18, 2015 @Kon you asked so i have to annoy you...look the f---ing bold part...you understand now??
Mar 18, 2015 i'm sorry dude this makes me sound like an a------ but i need to tap out of this conversation at this point
Mar 18, 2015 Yeah I kinda figured I'd lose you there. I'm not afraid to admit, my education on Pac is quite lacking, so I would not mind a bit of schooling in this situation, but I from what I've dived into I see it as more of an angry failure; someone who would be okay with an uprising. Not saying he is out of touch what is wrong with the culture, but I don't think he knew which way to go with it. Enlighten me?
Mar 18, 2015 Wait what did I ask? Also no I don't understand what you're trying to say from that bolded part. Something about people on KT dickriding the new album? I hardly keep up with new music man, I'm pretty out of touch tbh. Sorry for getting involved lol. Dew's quote about Pac is disappointing...But I guess it's cool that Kendrick can have the impact on people that Pac had on many including myself. I don't like the Pac interview part but I guess one good thing is it might get some younger people who don't know much about him to explore a little more.
Mar 18, 2015 well he was a political rapper from different angles at different points in his career. 2pacalypse now is an early-90s political record; you can clearly tell he was from the bay on that one, if you're versed in what SF/Oakland sounded like at the start of the '90s (not sure if you are). later, he moved to the center of his politics, the way kanye is doing now. the best primer on 2pac is probably to listen to holler if ya hear me, then put on all eyez on me and kinda let the clutter wash over you. i wouldn't recommend that to someone i didn't know but you have good enough taste to get what's filler on that record.
Mar 18, 2015 That's my problem with All Eyez, is that I just kinda zone out around disc 2 and stop caring.
Mar 18, 2015 I may be in the minority but I still like a lot of book 2. Can't c me, shorty wanna be a thug, wonda why they call u b----, picture me rollin are all good and then there's a few others I sort of like too. Can't c me and shorty wanna be a thug especially are my 2 favorites off that disc. To me Kendrick's got such a s--- delivery and boring personality compared to Pac. Pac rapped with so much energy and seemed so passionate, I just don't feel the connection from Kendrick.
Mar 18, 2015 Yes. It got the ultra rare 10. I can sleep at night now. Waiting On that DEHH review though
Mar 18, 2015 A) A hipster bragging about a forum post. B] A hipster disliking popular things. C) A blogger jealous of an actually relevant blogger. D) All of the above.
Mar 18, 2015 a) the context of my post was the other thread, where i was accused of "never liking kendrick." b) i dislike one thing which happens to be popular. look at my year-end lists and tell me i'm responding to commercial acclaim c) not at all, i would never do what he does. (i'm not a blogger, either) d) back to the drawing board, m8! good try tho you're improving
Mar 18, 2015 "I'm not a blogger mom!!!! I'm a journalist!!" Paul's family resumes awkward family dinner "So honey, what exactly is a podcast?"
Mar 18, 2015 The difference between our fantasies is that you're trying to make a career out of yours.
Mar 18, 2015 one of his best hip hop reviews for sure, but still loses me at parts lol i miss the days when i only thought he reviewed rock/punk
