Aug 6, 2015Some of the posts here are VERY cringy. I'm all for not rushing into a marriage (been dating my gf for roughly 5 years), but there's obvious emotional benefits to tying the knot.

We're living in a time where divorce is at a all time high. This isn't the 50s, women are independent, can work and take selfies in yoga pants and post it online to feel validated when their husband is being a d-ck. People get married way to early and social media doesn't help. Wrap it up fellasOld Account, Ordinary Joel, Sign Language and 2 others like this. -

This has to do with an increase in women needing to "experience life" (f--- and party) before finally settling down at 30, and men are slowly realizing they can get laid consistently without marrying.
The risks of marriage vastly outweigh the benefits. Unless you want to start a family immediately, or you're a politician who needs to establish marriage to gain respect, there is no point in tying the knot in 2015.Lil Squeed, Flacko, Worm and 1 other person like this. -

The word bachelor here is being used to sensationalize the story. I feel like a rather large percentage of the 70% are probably divorced, engaged, or in a relationship. Another large percentage probably has 1+ child.
The article instead chooses to paint a picture of a majority American men as lazy adolescents on their mama's couch.rhilo, CODEiNE DEMON and Disclosure like this. -
