yeah David compensated me for IOS as well..that's probably why he couldnt sustain the site too long lol
but, anyways, I'm currently in school for a Neuroscience degree. And I'm working at Level Up, a start up in Boston. although something related to creative writing is what I want to do in the long run, all I care about right now is strengthening my credentials.
I think you're being dishonest by saying you only ever wrote for free as "favors." As far as I was aware, most people start out this way.
But what do I know, maybe your background in the arts helped you get a better start than me.
But I'm 20. I'm not about to act like I deserve pay (even though I I think I do for a lot of these more in depth pieces).
Still have no idea where your comment is coming from -- and it's hard to look at it as anything other than condescending. Or delusional lol. Maybe you didn't go through this process, and I was wrong in assuming so, but you've written 1,000s of words on EMINEM for f---s sake, all for free lol
I'm doing the same when it comes to this forum...and as far as the blog is required, I'd rather help Hasman get this bigger than focus on marginal pay for myself by pitching my work elsewhere.

(but hey, if Jeff ever opens up spots for interns again my resume should be sitting in his inbox

this is so dumb
to answer @Perry The Platypus question--or, well, not to answer so much as to reframe it--you guys should be talking in terms of running time rather than tracks. dark fantasy is 13 tracks, but it's 70 minutes--madvillain is 22 tracks, but it's 45.
rap albums have always tended to creep longer than other genres. much rather have a good 35 minute album than a bloated 80 minute album with formless jazz and aimless writing and 12-minute fake 2pac hologram interviews. but i digress.
EDIT: i should also add that it's pointless to have this discussion in the abstract. like, yes, an album could, in theory, be so short as to hurt it. but i can think of very few examples off the top of my head for which that's true. we can't make blanket statements and say "if it's under 35 minutes it's bad" because, like, that's demonstrably untrue.
also, the attitude that longer albums are better because you can just delete the tracks you don't like is bs. you can obviously do that for your listening enjoyment but what perry's asking is about the actual, empirical quality of a piece of work.Last edited: Mar 25, 2015what, Goku187, CODEiNE DEMON and 1 other person like this. -

That's why Yeezus is such a good album. 10 tracks, 41 minutes. Every song on it is good.because the internet, CODEiNE DEMON and DKC like this.
