    Bro it's so funny to me how things have changed I'd never wear a dress and I'm 100 a straight male but back in the day growing up through middle school and high school (even to this day) I was heavy into metal goth emo style so I'd wear all black paint my nails and had long hair and it was always the rap fans who called people like me and skaters fa----s lol it's crazy to see how a lot of metal fans gave up on that style and it seems every rap fan wants to at least walk around with painted nails

    Maybe it's because if you look deep into a lot of these rappers music taste a lot of them seem as if they weren't mainly rap fans growing up and enjoyed metal more but what do I know

    I always kinda disliked that rockstar look with painted nails, long hair and all that. They looked weird to me lol. Prince too btw, but he has songs I like.

    I just feel like rappers are on a competition to see who goes farther. Obviously always behind Nas X though lol

    Rappers have been the new rockstars since rock felt the need to die and become Imagine Dragons lol


    In a way, but there's an art/balance to it. I think it's necessary for a genre to survive and thrive.

    I do wish that modern rap could create its own controversial style in the same ways that NWA and early Eminem did - rather than simply fall into the punk/rock/goth cliche, though.

    I honestly think they were onto something when they were tapping into the Country music market.

    I think we all know where durags came from, just like we know where skirts and fake nails come from (women).

    It would also be easy to show that black people wore it first anyway.
