Apr 4, 2015Billy woods' new album is out, it's actually released in 31/3, but I found out earlier today. I haven't seen anyone mentioning it so here you go. I haven't listened to it yet, but I'm looking forward to do so in the next days.
Elucid (the one half of Armand Hammer, woods is the other) is featured in 4 songs. Henry Canyons has also 2 features here; he is an LA-based MC whose debut can be found here, and he's billy woods' and Elucid's labelmate in Backwoodz Studioz. I'm unfamiliar with Curly Castro :/
Production is handled by Willie Green, Blockhead, Messiah Muzik, Elucid, Steel Tipped Dove, Junclassic, DOSG4W, and Busdriver & Aesop Rock. Additional cameos are by L’Wren, Curly Castro, and DJ Mo Nicklz.

You should take your time and give it another chance mate, it's worth your time. The production is gritty and abstract and the lyrics are intimidating (with some black humour here and there). It's not an easy listen but a long and dark one, and billy does enough imo to carry this record without getting boring (the production helps his -at times- monotonous flow). It's solid and has interesting concepts.
