Dec 8, 2015 You can tell at the end of that other song Cudi was trying and failing miserably at doing a Kurt Cobain breakdown tbh
Dec 8, 2015 Yeezus wasn't as much a new sound as it was a new way of structuring and articulating a rap album (in the broadest sense of the word). The songs you genuinely love are easier to get because they follow traditional Cudi song-hook structures.. but don't be fooled. His other songs are overflowing with genuine and calculated emotions that you'll only get on record if you have a clear predetermined vision in mind. He wants tracks to flow into eachother and takes you through different emotions. I don't see anything that lacks creativity so i'm emerged in this sound all the way through.. can't hate on something for being good yet done before (if it's not tiring) amirite? Furthermore i think the most revolutionary thing about this (and it's on Kanye's level imo) is the openess in Cudi's emotional havoc.. he almost wants the listener to hurt as bad as he feels through screaming and shouting... and putting non-sensical words together.. really an engaging and thrilling listen if you're asking me
Dec 8, 2015 Lmfao why did I find this in my recommended Youtube videos when I was listening to Adventures?
Dec 8, 2015 I'm praying for Cudi though, don't want him to be gone after a few failures and prove to me he's weak
Dec 8, 2015 Ok then find me the songs On Sight and I'm In It sound like then He didn't structure it in any new way whatsoever. He didn't do anything to warrant labeling this album a new way of articulating anything I like it because it sounds good when my ears transmit the sound to my brain Well, firstly, this is bs. Many records that bring forth emotion from the listener have to be recorded and rerecorded multiple times, it's possible to sound like you have raw emotion and not actually be caught up in feels. Secondly, he doesn't do anything overwhelmingly emotional. Well then you obviously don't listen to a lot of punk or grunge now do you You just said it's creative and now literally two words later you're defending it's lack of originality. Although in general I agree with the comment. You're just trying to find ways to make this sound dope. Being really really emotional isn't revolutionary and lol at comparing it to anything kanyes done. What you described is every single punk and grunge singer that Cudi poorly imitated on this record. Listen to Citizen or Suicidal Tendencies or the Pixies or Nirvana or even Story So Far (disregarding the scene fanbase) for better versions of what you hear here
