Simple question really, which group (past or present) is the greatest? Your answer can be a personal choice or just one where you think x is the best because... and so on.

I'd probably say A Tribe Called Quest. They brought prominence to the East Coast scene when during the time it was mainly about the West Coast and their dominance of the genre (sweeping generalisation there). And probably because I'm a sucker for conscious/alternative hip-hop.

They have three critical albums that most if not all hip-hop heads should know about (People's Instinctive Travels and Paths of Rhythm, The Low End Theory, Midnight Marauders).

So tell me SXN80, which group is the greatest in your eyes?

*Note that my definition of 'group' is three or more members*

I'd say Wu/NWA are top for the gangsta rap scene.
Tribe/roots for a more artistic scene

I'd throw in De La Soul for the more alternative scene as well.

Wu Tang for past because RZA's production and the diversity of rappers had a huge impact on the game.

Modern day, Odd Future. People don't realize how versatile they actually are. Modern day Wu Tang imo.

Tyler is an amazing producer and unique rapper

Earl low key one of the greatest rappers of our time

Hodgy low key one of the best modern west coast rappers

Domo is an amazing weed rapper

Mike G is awesome when he actually drops s---

Frank Ocean one of the best singers of all time

Jasper and Taco both are great comedic relief rappers

Left Brain isn't much of a rapper but his beats are awesome, and his hooks are cool to. FI FA FO FUM, n-----, I AIN'T, PLAYIN, WITCHA!

Regardless of wether they put their social lives out there, Earl and Frank still both count as a part of OF.

If you don't enjoy Jasper and Taco's antics, you don't enjoy fun

Mike G isn't a skilled rapper by any stretch of the word but he's enjoyable to listen to

And peep Left Brain's production on Mellowhype's projects. And hes produced great tracks for both Earl and Tyler.

Lol odd future doesnt belong in this discussion at all. And they aint s--- compared to wu tang. A bunch of dumb kids trying to be edgy and appeal to a certain demographic. They have yet to put out any kind of great album that i could compare to 36 chambers or wu tang forever. So f*ck that comparison. They aren't even top 10 or 20.
