Apr 13, 2015 Totally agree with this as a general principle. Took me a full year to get into S80, and I f---ing loved Kendrick after it finally clicked. Still trying with TPAB...
Apr 13, 2015 I love the low quality sound to Cherry Bomb and Pilot. Adds to the ridiculousness of the beats. Solid album, will be buying come April 28th no freakin problem. EDIT: I'm impressed by Earl's and Tyler's projects. They both started out with shock value a few years ago. Both have matured into different artists. I also really like OF's production so could be why I'm such a fan of their work.
Apr 13, 2015 I'll be reviewing this for the blog. A lot I want to say on it but ima wait till I finish the review to post my thoughts. Hard album to review tbh
Apr 13, 2015 I could see that. I don't know if I could ever review things... there are albums that sure aren't a 10/10 or close to it but I really enjoy and will listen to. It's all subjective but it would be tough haha.
Apr 13, 2015 Im surprised people like it tbh from what i heard there isnt much substance in the lyrics and the production is bad i know its intential but that dont make it good. I feel sorry for people who have to listen through s-----y speakers or headphones.
Apr 13, 2015 There are certain albums I hold really dearly that would be hard for me to seperate from nostalgia/the point in my life I first heard them...but it's a learning process. It's gotten a lot easier to be unbiased the more I write. @spurs19 the production isn't bad. Go listen to Royce da 5'9"
Apr 13, 2015 It is bad everyone knows its bad but are saying its done intentional so its good. Go write your s-----y blog fa----
Apr 13, 2015 You are completely misunderstanding what people are saying and have no idea what mixing is. Most people like the production, they just think it needs to be turned down and the vocals turned up.
Apr 13, 2015 That "s-----y blog" is the foundation of this site. Go offline and make some friends bub. and show @BigCountry some respect, he deserves it.
Apr 13, 2015 What I do, and I know it barely counts cuz if only written one review, is that im easily able to seperate things between a technical level and personal level. Like, I could review an album like Owl Pharaoh and say that, technically, the production is really muddy at parts, Travis never really shines as a rapper, at certain points he sounds too much like off brand Cudi, and he clearly was trying to tell a story at parts but kinda just abandoned that for s--- like Upper Echelon. But then personally, I'm like: Travis as a rapper and character I find to be really interesting, and his beats, even when he's not making them, are always great and cohesively follow a certain sound without being too samey (which leads me to believe his co production credits actually mean something), and he gives enough of a story with banging interludes in between to satisfy me. If I was reviewing, I'd take those last ones and just town em down a bit, but I'm perfectly capable of saying that critically it's like a 6 or 7 out of 10 while personally it's str8 up 9 out of 10 maybe even 10/10
Apr 13, 2015 The production is my favorite part. I could use an album with just these instrumentals tbh...
Apr 13, 2015 This album is good , people gotta understand this is influenced by what he listens to. IMO this is his "Yeezus" the production is f---ing fire too.
Apr 14, 2015 Am I the only one that had "WTF" expression their my face after listening to this album? I only liked the song with Kanye & Wayne....well, cause it didn't sound weird like the rest did. The production on the album is r-----ed, lyrics are decent.
Apr 14, 2015 "Yo Tyler, how do you want your album mixed?" "Just f--- my s--- up worse than Earl's bruh" The competition for worst mixed album of 2015 is heating up boysss
