Aug 6, 2021 its called saturation. he uses the avalon 737. you get that heavy saturation from the mid range EQ band when you push the input of the pre amp. saturation is a really common thing in music. idk why he hasnt been using it sooner. tube saturation is great on vocals.

Aug 6, 2021 I'm not gonna vote yet - Nas verse is nice, bit short, but it's probably cause Em kept going so it makes the other verse feel shorter. - Em comes in with a flow that might need some getting used to, and like I already said having Christmas lines in August, including bad jokes as usual. I like the shout to DMX, I was wondering why he didn't tweet anything when he died. Then the beat switches and I like it, I feel that's the most enjoyable part until he feels the desire to go faster that we all expected towards the end. Right now, I feel like this should have been way better, but we all know it's 2021, not 2009 or 10 when this feat should have happened. Or even before his overdose. Just hope they have another one on Em's album and it will be better, I'll be mad dissapointed if he didn't do a song for a song deal.
Aug 6, 2021 If he's recording from home, then it sucks that he got rid off his mansion with the studio right before a pandemic. Another reason to hope he will record in LA with Dre, with a good producer, mixer, engineer and a better mic.
Aug 6, 2021 People who say 'its not 2003 anymore'... f--- off lol. From 2011- 2018 I understood; he barely did anything remotely good. But he proved, on Stepping Stone, Fall, and more recently on Zeus, Premonition, Tone Deaf, Discombombulated, Gnat etc and even guest verses (Moon Man, Lord Above) he can definitely make great verses without sounding like s--- lol. This was not it , neither of them imo

Aug 6, 2021 song is a mess, epmd barley appear, it has bad structure overall, the track finished and i was like.... ok? and yes, Em is not good in it, last bars flowed like a---, . it is a shame to see that two legends dont take seriously the crafting of a song together.

Aug 6, 2021 The problem with Em features is that because he's such a hermit, he just records his verses at home and emails them to the artists. That is the only explanation as to why he is always and consistently off beat and his verses seem so out of touch with the rest of the track. Listened to it twice. Will most likely never listen to it again. Yet again another instantly forgettable feature.
