    Chance scored big with Acid Rap and had a fair appearance on that Bronson track.
    Surf was the gayest s--- I've ever heard.
    Yet there's still people that say "You want good rap, look at Chance. f--- Future and Young Thug."
    Yes, those people are going to piss me off a little.

    i hate to be that guy, but this is the downside of the internet and social media: everybody thinks their opinion is the last word. i get not liking chief keef's music. he was a pretty narrow, regional guy who became a narrow, experimental guy. i get it. but saying he's "one of the ten worst rappers of all time" and that he doesn't have any talent is patently ridiculous, and flies in the face of the genuine stardom the guy has cultivated.

    (TS, on the other hand, is an almost entirely concocted product. but i digress.)

    i listed those rappers because the insufferable real rap heads who dismiss keef and young thug out of hand tend to have safe, generic, boring taste that frankly isn't very good. it's especially ironic that you like a watered-down, xeroxed version of truly experimental artists. that's the same principle by which fetty wap is becoming a star.

    Never heard any fans excuse an artist any more than Travis fans though:

    "Antidote is just a throwaway, not gonna be on the album"
    "After Rodeo he's gonna go back to being more experimental."

    Maybe I was wrong for saying he was one of the worst. But its not bad to dislike him. Idgaf if he's experimental or not. The point is for the experiment to work.

    To the best of my knowledge I haven't said any of these. I'm on board with whatever Travis is up to. Don't know why fans would make excuses for an artist...if I think Rodeo sucks I'll be glad to admit that I think Rodeo sucks.

    I also liked Relapse, too...so maybe I have terrible taste.

    I've heard variations of these statements/arguments throughout the whole album release cycle.

    Honestly I have no problem with anyone liking Travis (I liked him quite a bit at a point, got tired of him fast though), my problem is that so many people paint him and his music to be something it's not and will defend that notion to the death. Just enjoy it for what it is rather than trying to say he's this revolutionary that's going to change everything.

    He's an incredibly bland rapper. I listened to days before rodeo when it dropped because I thought he was gonna be a big thing. He had been involved in making yeezus so it was a must listen. I only liked Mamacita and Skyfall and even these songs were good mainly because of guest verses from RIch Homie Quan and Young Thug respectively. I was so shocked when I saw that he blew up on internet.
