Apr 19, 2015 Looking to buy a new laptop and started Looking at Macs, but phewthat price tag man. Any who I'm looking at the 13" pro with retina. So for y'all Apple heads, is this worth the price of a car?
Apr 19, 2015 If you're going to make use of the tools only available on OS X or develop on it, yes. If not, you're better off getting a cheaper laptop with Windows
Apr 19, 2015 It's all aesthetics. Macs are fashion statements at this point. Like Beats headphones. Performance wise you can get something better running Windows for way cheaper. I personally feel more capable on Windows. Lots of equivalent products out there.
Apr 19, 2015 Not a fan of Macs at all, they're the devil. Had one in high school and you just can't do s--- with it without it going into a 'spinning ball of death' lag. Wanted to smash the thing many a times. Windows all the way.
Apr 19, 2015 I like Lenovo. Every Christmas and Back to School Season they have killer sales. They were in a scandal over spyware, but I didn't really care lol.
Apr 19, 2015 Idek who makes good lap tops now a days. I know ram is a must. I'd like a nice display that's why I was looking at them retinas and I read the ssd are a lot better than the standard hds. Thats about it. No knowledge of these Intel's and amd cpus

Apr 19, 2015 I have an iPad and the iPhone 6 plus and at no point have I ever wanted a Mac. They're so nice though, but for the price they want it's not worth it to me. I'm happy with my windows pc.
Apr 19, 2015 I'm a android fan but the Mrs does everything Apple. She wants a Macbook so it's interesting if they would be more beneficial combined with other Apple products.
Apr 19, 2015 I had an HP and it was alright. s--- was recalled because the wifi didn't work. I wanted them to fix it as it's a recall but apparently I was a month late on the time? So they said I'd have to pay 500-600 to ship it there and have them fix it. s--- was as expensive as my laptop so I said f--- that. I've had my macbook pro since 2010 with basically no problems. I don't use it to game, mostly used it for school and personal use IE: internet, downloading music etc. It's been great. I had to get my hard drive replaced recently but otherwise it's good. I'm not too tech of a person so I like that you can just throw something in the trash and it's uninstalled and gone. Not really having to deal with viruses is a plus to. Either way PC or Mac, I can use either but I don't have any negatives to a mac.
Apr 19, 2015 I've had my mac since 2011.. it still runs great after all these years and I've probably never shut it down.. its always on doing that kinda gave it a s-----y battery when its not plugged in but meh other than being complete s--- for playing video games, it does everything else better and faster than a hp or anything else still wouldn't recommend buying one though, not worth the money .. like @CharlieWork said in the beginning of the thread, there are much cheaper alternatives i received mine as a gift from school (scholarship)
