    I used to have one of these little Jack Russells. Wasnt sure what to name him but I went with Melo, named after my favorite basketball player Carmelo Anthony lol. Miss him to death.

    I have two dogs and a cat, and I love them like family. I would be devastated if I lost any of them and it makes me think about how some people take their pets for granted.

    What pets do you guys have? Do you consider them family?

    We have a dog named Monique, she's a shepherd retriever mix that we got from the shelter 3 years ago. I consider her family, she used to follow me everywhere when I first got her during my senior year of HS, but I haven't been spending as much time with her ever since I started college 2 years ago. Every time I open the door though, she's always there wagging her tail to give me a kiss. It amazes me how loving and loyal dogs are. Sometimes I get sad when I think about how she's not gonna live as long as me, but I always remember this quote

    “People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life – like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?” “Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay as long.”

    My wife and I have a cat named Linus and a cat named Hobbes. They are about 6 and 3 years old, and I definitely consider them family - had them since they were a couple months old. Got the first one right when my wife and I started dating.

    I used to prefer dogs but they are just too much work. Good friends of ours got a puppy recently and their life seems like h---.

    Edit: here is a pic of Hobbes from yesterday stealing my couch spot.

    2 dogs and 3 cats.

    We initially weren't going to get any more cats after our last ones died but these little balls of cuteness were stray and found trapped in a wall at work so how could I not adopt them?
    All of our pets are family, though like a true parent, I do have my favourites :emoji_wink:

    i feel you @Creation when we first got my dog he was so f---ing thin, could see his spine and all his ribs and he had bald patches all over him. he still doesn't like being near feet, i guess he'd been kicked a lot. i don't understand how people can mistreat animals so badly. all he ever wants to do is play ball. he's simultaneously the smartest and dumbest animal i've ever known

    I had a dog for sixteen years. She was a labarador/retriever cross and outlived her lifespan by like seven years. GOAT animal.

    Been 4 months since I had him, and boy we're already having a tight relation.

    Those pets can teach some so called "friends" of ours or that we had, one or two things about being loyal.
