May 5, 2015I'm not sure it was my first, but Pokemon: The First Movie (1998) was the first big deal.
My cousins and I caught it on the premier night. I was 4 and remember it vividly.

i lived in india till i was 5
but f--- this is making me too nostalgic/kinda sad lol. movies were such a big part of my life growing up, and just as big a part of my dads upbringing, but i feel like so much gets lost over time. the generational and cultural differences being the least of it. like, how do you translate the joy or warmth you felt watching a film over and over again with your parents when you're an adult with your own kids? You don't...you just try to recreate that experience for them. And while thats beautiful, its also kind of sad to me. Ive seen my dad stop and start on numerous occasions to try and describe something his childhood, with his dad (who passed away when my dad was like my age now), and at some point its kind of hopeless. So I always try to be conscious and aware of experiences so that I can cherish them "properly" but that just makes it seem even more artificial. Idk I guess these are what "growing pains" are...I just didnt think theyd be an on going part of life from the moment you realize that you cant relive your past till the day you pass awaygame time67, Radeem, what and 4 others like this. -
