    He also wanted to name his mixtape Carter 6 as a tribute, but considering how f----- up the situation with birdman and wayne is, wayne thought it was a sign of disrespect.

    influenced heavily by wayne, but is currently pushing a sound wayne was never championing (until like SWTW2 earlier this year which was blatantly an attempt at taking the roots of his sound back from thug)

    Listen to 1017 Thug 1, Rich g---: tha tour pt 1, and Barter 6 whenver you get the chance.

    Thug doesnt have too many official projects out, just a lot of leaked material, so its hard to shift through it all. All those 3 projects are must listens though

    I dont care who Frank Ocean's singing about when I listen to his music. I dont care that Forrest Gump is about a guy, or Bad Religion is about coming out, etc.

    Ahh i see what this is...gettin back at me for callin thugs writing lazy :cam2: Lol no but really, i get what you're saying but i dont think it demonizes women. It's not the vice that he's depicting as all consuming (even if thats what the surface of the song suggests) but rather his inability to overcome that impulse.

    makes sense, wish the song was more explicit about that though.

    you cant deny that on the surface (and a few inches beneath that as well) it just sounds like hes kind of faking the act of placing blame on himself...that hes more thinking "yes its my fault for not overcoming my vices.........BUT its not my fault that they exist and its theyre fault for existing in the first place not mine for succumbing to them" than anything else

    isnt there a line that explicitly has the girl distract him from whatever deep thoughts hes having? haha

    but just to be clear, i completely get what you're saying and dont really fault the song for the reasons im bringing up now. im just interested in this topic

    Nah i get you, im interested in it too.

    The reason i dont think he's being insincere is because i can relate to it personally in a way that has nothing to do with women as well as the fact that he has explored the subject several times using stuff like materialism to depict that distraction that causes him to steer away from his more honest intentions.

    I dont think that's really pertinent or significant in this case, it really could be anything. In lights please specifically it was about educating others about their struggle and what they should be doing to advance in society. However, i think it's meant to be a big picture kind of thing where you can just say "i should be doing THIS, but I want to do THAT" And your selfishness actually leads you to doing the things you lust for instead of the things you feel like you know you should be doing. It could apply to wide range of things.
