Okay so Kendrick isn't on both interludes. Very cool for crediting them Kendrick! Family Ties clears like almost every song on this album so far with the exception of maybe 1 or 2.

Just finished my first listen. This definitely isn’t going to be an album for everyone given the subject/sound of the album. If you’re looking for “DNA” or “m.A.A.d. city” Kendrick, it’s just not here. I got a lot of Kanye vibes from this project: Kendrick uses his vocals on here way more than he has in previous albums. I know some don’t like Kendrick’s voice but similar to Thug & others, I think he’s always been able to do interesting things with his vocals & it was cool to see him really utilize that on here. Quite a few women singers on hooks/choruses, most of which I think were fine (the hook on “Mother I Sober” was tiresome though imo). I absolutely loved Kodak’s contributions & makes sense on an album where Kendrick is talking about himself & issues he’s had to deal with rather than the environment around him. Again, reminds me of Kanye’s use of Chance on “Ultralight Beam” & others.

Initially, i don’t love this album on first listen like I did his previous releases but I still think this is a very solid album. I think the album ends pretty flat & could probably do without those last couple tracks but I’m not upset at this at all!

Dude had writers block for years. This album is def not a product of continuous 5 years of work.

okay album finished, umm the opinion I had 30 minutes ago straight up hasn't changed, the final track is pretty good though

this album is like if you took the deep cuts off of TPAB, like Hood Politics for example, and just made different variations of Hood Politics for the entire duration of the album. I don't even know what to say, like he came out swinging like a mf on N95 and it's the strongest point on the album. But should your strongest point on the album be the 2nd song? 2/18? Really?
