I'm weirded out by this bc I thought @WPG ranked The Blueprint as like 3rd or 4th in Jay's discography (wasn't AG your #1??)

The Blueprint is a brilliant, incredibly fun record. But does it match MBDTF? For me, certainly not. I will say, it's Jay at his funniest and most charismatic, but I think he has at least 1 or 2 better albums overall

a label that represented a good handful of the greatest rappers and producers a city had to offer for an era (and all time), the same label that broke philly nationally and launched kanye west, a label that put out classics in 1996 and as recently as 2013 versus...eminem and 50 cent's vanity imprints? plus the one dre album and the one kendrick album? uh, okay.

If you talk about eminem in this thread I will ban you.

Not joking. Koolo gave me the OK a long time ago to delete eminem posts in non-eminem threads. There is an eminem section. Post there.

late registration is a very great album. a near-classic. it's hampered by terrible, terrible sequencing--the album is far less than the sum of its parts. unlike on dropout, the skits (except for maybe the last one) mitigate all the album's momentum. it shouldn't have two or three songs that made the cut.

it's splitting hairs with albums this great, but it's just not edited carefully enough to stack up with his masterpieces.
