May 14, 2015 Some people just don't like To p---- A Butterfly. It would probably still struggle to sell if it was discounted like GKMC was last week. That's the chance you take though when you make an album that doesn't appeal to the mainstream, especially in this day and age where everything has to "b--- in the whip" in order for it to be good. To me it's still an incredible record and it's critically acclaimed for a reason.
May 14, 2015 nah its called being a delusional kak. get some perspective and be immersed in the world of kendrick lamar. Some of the dumbasses that can't enjoy this album i honestly feel bad for. This s--- is unwordly. From wesleys theory to mortal man it's a legit trip about the ups and downs of the industry and what a young black male has to go through in finding himself. It isn't for anyone, and of course not everyone can relate. But if you can't subjectively say that this album is good than you have s--- tier taste in music.

May 17, 2015 gkmc has more hits and things that pass for hits. there's nothing that even kind of works in butterfly's commercial favor right now. not a surprise. oh, yeah? enough said? its metacritic score means it's better than the doggystyles and the cuban linxs? tight
May 17, 2015 man, im a huge Kendrick fan, but it's not THAT good. It's like I'm in the Truman Show and everybody plays along in that TPAB praising, jesus. I enjoyed the album, but the flaws are there. I still bump GKMC to this day. I stopped playing TPAB weeks ago.

May 22, 2015 The meta rating does not say "this is better than any album ever" don't get me wrong. My point is the meta rating justify's the albums praise. With a rating of 97 you ain't even gotta defend the album, it was well received and appreciated BECAUSE of how good it was and the 97 is just proof that most critics came to one opinion that the album is near perfect.
May 22, 2015 Also i've downloaded Doggystyle and dragged it into my trash can weeks later many of times over the years. Not a good example. TPAB is better than ANY Snoop album on a high technicality musically and lyrically. Whether or not it has the nostalgia Snoop's music has is personal opinion.
May 22, 2015 GKMC was kind of an unexpected hit. I mean it was expected to be great but it quietly crept up on peoples radar. I remember telling people about Kendrick and they were like yeah he's ok. Then Good Kid dropped and people were asking about Kendrick. TPAB excluded people, wasn't as accesible, and didn't have big name features. I don't know why sales dictate quality to you guys.
