May 15, 2015 It's that time... 6 years ago, we got a new Eminem album after 3 years of speculation/arguing about No Apologies' last verse/cringing at all the features that came out. When Crack A Bottle dropped at the beginning of 09, we had no idea what kind of album we were getting, we were just happy to see Dre, 50 & Em on the same song again. Then We Made You happened & we all got scared that Encore 2 was about to drop. That wasn't quite the case, we got MMLP Slim Shady with Encore accents & sometimes great, sometimes awful results. I LOVE the beats on this album, but I don't like some of the songs that came from them to this day (Old Times Sake, Medicine Ball, We Made You to name a few) but Em also had some great songs on this like Deja Vu, Same Song & Dance (used to HATE this but it got catchy real fast), Must Be The Ganja & I'm including Refill on this thread so h--- Breaks Loose. Has this album aged well with everyone? Have opinions changed for good or bad? Discuss!!!
May 15, 2015 Hated this album when it came out I remember listening to it in my living room being so bored but telling myself it was good Was so happy when Recovery came out because the accents were gone but over the years I've grown to appreciate the album and wish he'd at least attempt to make similar songs and put at least a few of them on his albums
May 15, 2015 I'm Having A Relapse had me hyped about this album. The Tim Westwood freestyles> f--- Mr. Porter though.
May 15, 2015 i played 3am nonstop when it first came out. now i think its a little corny that i did that but still looking back at the album it was decent. not as bad as it was made out to be
May 15, 2015 Loved this album and still do. To this day I think this is the closest we'll ever get to an actual eminem album that feels like an eminem album. .he seemed like he was having so much fun on this album
May 15, 2015 First album I ever bought on release date. Brilliant album. Will be listening all the way through on the way home tonight
May 15, 2015 eminem being eminem on relapse is better than this weird eminem we got from recovery onwards he actually made music that he wanted to make .. at his natural leisure during a time when he was hungry as f--- from being on a hiatus what other album has this kind of flow on fire dre beats? nothing is the only correct answer he f---ing went off on s--- like music box, buffalo bill, my darling, careful what you wish for, stay wide awake, deja vu.. songs that actually feel like true eminem songs plus, my darling is probably one of the greatest songs ever written.. pure f---ing fire eminem at his best we even got the gem beautiful the song that i consider to be one of his best simply because it was written at a very crucial and hard time of his life.. if not THE hardest praise relapse and the last glimpse of your god eminem
May 15, 2015 Loved it when it first came out. Don't rate it so highly anymore, but my opinion on individual songs are largely the same. Deja Vu is classic, My Mom and Hello are among my favourite post-hiatus songs. Beautiful is a plodding melodramatic mess that details the stark contrast between his sober and drugged-riddled states. The project was botched overall, hindered by the decision to make it a 2 part album and later the decision to scrap it.
