I'd love to help out here in this section, anyway I can. I'm trying to do my part with the tape and the soundcloud, but I'm open to any ideas for things outside of that.

I'm still so excited to have you doing this man, and I meant to suggest it but I think it's obvious that afterwards we need a pieces on people like @Bleed @Narsh Creation @LasiK and some of the new producers like @bijanamir that just popped up and dropped quality here, all of which are far better artists than me.

That seems real unfair. To expand on that I think perhaps you could divide the section into sub-sections or categories (novice, intermediate, professional and the like). Also, what one person thinks is trash another may believe is a real treasure. Just look at the views on Young Thug, everyone is very divided on that h--- with it either being you absolutely love him or eternally hate him. Music is subjective not something people can agree on. s---, there are people who hate the Beatles. THE BEATLES!! I think preventing others from flourishing just because you don't like their sound is some bs. Everyone had to start somewhere, don't prevent them from being able to do that here. The people who come here like it here and the people that frequent the forum. Don't blacklist someone because YOU tor even I think they s--- donkey balls. That'll drive people away and I'm 100% certain that isn't what you want. If anything we should encourage the whack folk so that they can be artists we like or maybe even admire one day.

I remember when M.I.C. was finishing up God Complex and everyone was getting hyped for it's release. Members had God Complex avatars, and there was even an inside leak of a few tracks. It was a tight group of people that were into the whole thing, maybe 20 or 30 IIRC, but it was still a pretty unique experience as a forum member. Maybe we could try and build something like that. Establish a spotlight and build hype for a release as a community, take advantage of message board discussion and the activity of the regular users while attempting to create an initial audience or provide a push in plays/downloads/shares/etc.

@Koolo m.i.c. and i have a handful of tracks (me producing, him rapping) and we just recently (like 5 min ago) talked about finishing up whatever demos we've done and pushing it out as a tape/ep. maybe that'd be a good place to start/experiment

Yeah I believe that when there aren't any major rap releases that we should review, we can post reviews or brief pieces as an introduction / promotion to you guys, have contact info and everything. Depending on our schedule and who is available to help with the blog every time, I think that this can happen once per month, maybe more frequently.

im a mod in this section, but you would be a brilliant addition for sure.. The more the merrier.

Ive been pretty busy lately.

But soon i have ideas for compilations & getting producers to collab & such.

This was done before on SL, but was forgotten.
I want to do a challege series, where i get producers to take a sample & see what they all come up with & pick a winner.
& after a few weeks of doing all of this. The person with the most wins get a reward. @Koolo what do you think?

We could come up with ideas & things.


Recently i started making music again, so im going to be posting in here alot.

lasik would be a fantastic addition as mod.

maybe something on the front page about like "top new songs from SXN80 artists" or something..can feature beats, songs, remixes whatever and clicking on one of them takes you to the thread its posted in or the thread made for it (because some songs, like the ones i post, will go into my existing thread if i didnt make a new one).

this would need a mod for this section that stays on top of new stuff and updates the feed manually and s--- idk

At first, probably. But if more people post their content here, and it has to be truly good to get "promoted" it'll be better than having the whole creative section for 4-5 guys. And it's more fun anyway, it'll be more interactive with the community etc. Also, if I want to f--- around and drop something, I'll still have a place to do it. Not to mention that the guys who have talent and experience will be able to coach the main section better.

I'm actually trying to finish a piece on Cyreides for the reviews section, if we do this regularly and push the articles in fb / twitter etc it can help a bit.

I'm glad we're past the part blacklisting amateurs. Amateurs need feedback to improve work and they should be able to get it here. Separate the amateurs from the more professional but don't take the ball out of the amateur's hands. As Kanye said, "I ain't always make bangers. I used to s---". But I am happy to see the creative section getting some love from @Koolo . And I am also excited to get some of our members' names out there who are extremely talented. @LasiK is dope and consistent. Couple other cats in here got a nice vibe with their music too but I have to do more homework on them. I really only follow yaboy.
